Honolulu residents need to be specific with Amazon delivery instructions

may I advise you YTers to watch vids on AZ delivering.....its more than this report. Lots of vids show how its done in the mainland US. From TRYING TO deliver to apartments to avoiding getting BIT by dogs......its rough and I ALWAYS give them and fellow delivery folks out there, the Right of Way!

I see packages being left outside the entrance and then couriers takes a picture and leaves it there unsecured. The couriers look like contractors driving their personal cars.

Those are Amazon Flex drivers. They are the same as uber eats drivers.

Think about it, Dave! You pay a few dollars to Amazon for Prime. The DSP drivers (do you even know what a DSP driver I'd?) can't deliver your package so an Amazon Flex driver who uses his own vehicle and gas and pays the taxes on all of that is loaded up and told if you don't LOSE MONEY delivering these butt plugs to DAVE, then you will not be granted pity and will be denied a route the next day.

Maybe. And I don't even trust usps. Mail takes forever to get my bills out on time. I send a bill that is due almost 3 weeks sooner. This is not ok. Cannot trust any corporations. Those days are gone. Too many people ordering online for stuffs most are not needed. Ugh

Every driver you speak with tells you, sorry, I just moved here to help with the company or "I'm not from here", or "We were contracted from out of state to come help here." So no, not local people being hired. This is why your packages are getting lost or not delivered cause they are not from here.

Actually, my packages have been arriving earlier. There is some kinks they do need to work out. I got two different Amazon deliveries on the same day by two different drivers. One package was actually due that day, the other arrived 2 days earlier and arrived later in the day. However, I was not at home at the time in the afternoon and they put my package in the garage which is not where it is is usually delivered.

Delivery has gotten worse since the Distribution Center opened, learning curve is steep. Tracking shows that package has landed on island. Wait one week for it to be actually delivered. Returned several packages in the last three weeks for credit because of late delivery and I no longer need the item for the event. At least that part is fast (same day) because I'm the one doing the return authorization re-labeling and taking to nearest UPS drop off site on Bishop Street.

I have given Amazon the most specific and minutest details about how and when I want my goods delivered. Most deliveries are accurate. But some are thrown on a random place outside the door, on the steps, on an outside picnic table, you name it. And in a high porch pirate area, it matters.

0:42 LMFAO! Amazon drivers Gotta park a mile away from a location due to lack of parking space and use a dolly to move loads of heavy boxes to a single apartment complex. This is a business take away from UPS and FedEx. They started their business here on Oahu. It will take time to settle in. They might have stationed in leeward and windward. Just like the post office has their stations all over. It will take time but they’ll get there. It will be a rough road for UPS and FedEx. I’m not a fan of it but it is what it is…. That’s how business works.

That’s mainland and it’s easy to get around there compared to Hawaii. These past days Hawaii’s traffic is congested. Also, people ordering on other islands should know that USPS will be taking care of their packages getting delivered.
