More than half the grocery chains and retail stores do not have well protected networks and mainly outdated systems! Our one grocery store which was a Safeway was still using Windows 2000 based self check out stations up until two years ago!

Interesting here in Colorado we are having a battle of two grocery chains want to merge with each other and have one giant chain Kroger and Safeway and Albertsons a group In Utah that has sold most of THEIR stores to Safeways ! Now they are in court to see if it legal for the merger to take place

I get notices in the mail every couple months telling there's been a breach. Last one was Ticketmaster from when I bought a ticket 6 years ago. Why are companies allowed to store and distribute your data until the end of time? Also why are those "agree" ments allowed to remain in place long after you've closed your account or moved on? There should be time limits. I would vote for any candidate that addressed this very important issue of the security of out privacy and the protection of our data from predatory and unfair practices by all companies.
