That is true of hurricanes with winds maxing out at 120 mph or less, but hurricanes at 150 mph are like buzzsaws leveling EVERYTHING. Now picture a tornado with windspeeds of 165-250+ mph. Let's see you build a house above ground that withstands that completely.
