In this video I have a look at a 2005 Kia Amanti from another shop that was having some trouble figuring out a transmission solenoid code for the UD solenoid. Let's see what we can do to help them out. -Enjoy!

@@craigtirrell3026 yea I would hate to replace the transmission in my car for 50 $ part that's a big no no. My transmission in my jeep grand Cherokee went into limp mode and stip shifting properly check engine light came on. The day before the car had started shifting funny too. Shop wanted to replace my transmission I took it somewhere else it just needed new shift solenoids that repair was a lot cheaper then a transmission I didnt need.

That is the reason quality diagnosticians charge "ridiculously high amounts" for "fixing a broken wire" I once fixed a broken wire(intermittent) which was under-seat, carpet, high vac, and rocker. it took almost 24 hrs to find and repair and reassemble the car someone had added "step bumpers" and one of the sheet metal screws would short the wire on some turn and or bumps. That was on 2007 and should have been billed for 2400 dollars Yup to "fix a wire"(which took 15 -20 min or so) I charged him 1k and ate the rest

Quite often in my previous profession, I had to rely on diagrams that were not spot-on accurate. I can appreciate your dilemma of inaccurate diagrams. I suppose they split the supply duties of wires 9 and 10 to handle the relatively high current loads created by those solenoids. For once I was in the zone here, and not getting lost in theory of things I have not been trained to do... Thanks for sharing Eric.

Hi , New to your channel & just binge watched about 25 of your posts on a rainy Saturday here in Scotland UK & thought id post to say how much i enjoyed them. I like to do as much as i can on my own cars & having the same issues as you with the dreaded RUST here in UK. i found your films very informative how to get around problems of this & other situations & the tools you used to get around the situation . The first i watched was the broken spark plugs that snapped of in the head of a Ford . Thinking to my self ..... "how is he going to get out of that one ????" & you brought out some wee tool that bites into what is left of it .... Genius !!! Another that comes to mind is the stud stuck in the head .....think we have all been there !! Ive been putting off a big job on my 2008 BMW M3 for a while as i wasn't confident enough to have a go ...but after watching a few of your films it has inspired me to have a go . I know you are a Mechanic & it is your job & your own garage but you never seam to worry about a situation . As my old tradesman (im a Roofer) used to say ...."There are no problems ....only solutions " I look forward to seeing more of your stuff so thanks for the insperation ....... Tommy

This is why I prefer the older vehicles , back when the auto makers still applied the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid) .

I'm too young to have messed around with carbs too much, but seemed like a black art to me.

@@pfsantos007 Carborators couldn't be any simpler if they tried. Bowl of fuel, jet (tube for fuel) vacume comes along sucks fuel through the jet from the bowl of fuel into the intake, atomizing the fuel into a mist as it does it, into the cylinder it goes.... Viola BOOM ingnition. Simple and works. Just need the right cfm carb and jet size for your application.
