Just wanted say thanks. I got my keys locked in the trunk on my rental out of all places in Hawaii. CAA was able to open the door but unwilling to disassemble the lock like in your video. Thankfully a maintenance person was around and helped me using the steps in your video

Excellent video! I had a family member lock her keys in her rental Kia at the grocery store. All indoor buttons are disabled when doors are locked. As a woman it was awesome and easy to follow the instructions. The tow company wanted to tow my car to the dealer and wait for monday, but I was visiting Oregon and needed my car to dricve bback to Washington. first try was a charm.

OMG I can't believe this worked. Literally went for broke, because I called one locksmith during work and he couldn't figure it out. Spent all night worrying about it and tried to block it out of my head. Our AAA guy triggered the safety feature on the alarm when he opened the door so we were unable to pop open the trunk. At the back of driver's passenger headrest, is a little box. Remove the cover and a loop string in it. Pull and trunk will open.

I don't know if you will ever see this message, but I have to tell you how much this video saved me. I locked the key in trunk this rental car and long story short six and a half hours later I took the remaining 2% of my battery life and searched for help on KZbin. Lo and behold there your video was and I did it! I was losing sunlight Advance Auto was closing in 20 minutes I was in the parking lot for six and a half hours Enterprise sent their roadside assistance after being on hold for an hour and 40 minutes AAA comes out he opens the door and says I'm sorry but I can't help you. You're going to have to call back and have them bring out a locksmith or get this car towed. My phone was dead mind you at this point and he just left. I walked to every store around to try to find a little battery power pack, I did find one and it only charged my phone to 4% I tried to call roadside assistance one more time and after 49 minutes I was down to 2% and I found your video. And now I am sitting at home thanks to you and not sleeping in the car in a parking lot waiting for Enterprise to open. You are awesome and I cannot thank you enough

Not trying to hate, but if you have the car open and the keys are locked in the trunk there is a lever to bring down the back seats by the rear window and then u can crawl into the trunk and open it this is ten times easier and doesn’t require taking anything apart

It's broke. Open from inside with emergency cable that is in the trunk. Access through the rear seat.
