This was a quick and easy misfire diagnosis on a Kia. Plug wires fixed it up.

Thanks Pauly. That is my cheap inductive lead that came with my 20 year old macwave. Figured I would see what the pattern looked like on my verus.

I've got a random misfire, throwing codes 301 through 306. When I say random, I mean literally driving down the road, starts to misfire very noticeably only for a few minutes or less, then clears up and runs perfect. Debris in fuel rail? Water in fuel? Any insight? 08 2.7. Thanks!

Where do you get one of those scanner things? I have to fix my vehicles myself now since mechs are charging insane rates now.

The two channel Mac scope in this video is obsolete. Here is me using my Snap On verus edge:kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqCcpKOOlNxpfs0&ab_channel=RainCityWrench If you need a scanner for such things as pulling codes, tpms monitor, bidirectional controls, etc then an Autel maxisys ms906 or ms908 would be a good choice. I picked up both my units on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/255006679812?epid=1968699755&hash=item3b5f952304:g:UxcAAOSwAKlgu7Z6 Or you could get a cheap pocket scanner: www.ebay.com/itm/264525058261?hash=item3d96ec10d5:g:~lwAAOSwnI9dxDfq

I have this problem today with a sportage 2008 2.0 can you help ive change the coil and the plugs
@raincitywrench1172 жыл бұрын
Before doing anything else, check the compression. If one cylinder is low then that's your problem. Also, if you have a stethoscope then place it on each fuel injector body to see if you can hear them click.

Not yet but just found out one of the other techs had a silverado with afm earlier this spring that had a noisy lifter and misfires. He replaced the lifters three separate times! It came back again, I suspect a manifold bleed, dirty screen, bad valve or something along those lines but i'm not involved with it thankfully.
@kevinavery25185 жыл бұрын
@@jaywebb0113I do to, but this one was a real weird issue, didn't end up being the vlom at all, was another problem that when in v4 mode it was amplified
@kevinavery25185 жыл бұрын
@@raincitywrench117 normally a dirty screen will not allow the oil pressure to read on the older ones, they also had real bad cam and lifter issues

Good job. You definitely don't want to melt down the cats, that can get pretty spendy.
