Sometimes I find it difficult to accept that this person is the CEO of Pakwheels. You have totally got it wrong here. Kia sportage is a compact SUV. I repeat SUV. Do you think that SUVs are designed to be so sensitive to such conditions? Regardless of the fact that the guy drove the car through high waters or not, a 5 million worth car should not have that much water inside it. I have lived in Gulberg for almost 8 years and I remember how rain water once came inside our house but it never made it inside our cars. i am taking about Toyota Corolla and honda civics. We had owned baleno for 7 years and I clearly remember making my way through model town in almost drowning water but it hardly made its way inside. The floor would become wet ofcourse but not to the point where it would become flooded. You have to accept the fact that Kia did not design this car for Pakistan's weather conditions. Infact, it was never tested as it seems. If you wish to argue over it, it would be better if you ask Kia to showcase any tests that they have conducted to ensure it withstands pakistan's weather conditions.

​@@ibrahimmalik8594 In November-2017 in Jeddah, KSA, I drove my 2008 honda accord through the flooded streets of South Jeddah for 4 hours to the point that only front wheel/tires were barely touching the road and on many occasions, the car felt like a boat and it would drive sideways due to waves of water as other cars were also passing by; NO SINGLE DROP OF WATER SEEPED INSIDE MY CAR, Keeping in mind accord is a much lower car than Kia-Sportage. I just believe in one thing that All low-end Car Manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, Hyundai/Kia etc. will continue to sell (unlike elsewhere) featureless and poor quality products to the Pakistani Nation and the fun part, it all sells like hotcakes.

@@ibrahimmalik8594 I had mentioned 'Compact SUV'. Sportage cannot be considered as a full-fledge SUV. Why do you think one would purchase it if it wasn't any different to normal sedans? As far as the features are concerned, it has nothing special other than the panoramic roof. The point is that Kia Sportage was not tested in accordance with the Pakistan's conditions. Your argument underneath regarding Honda producing customer-friendly cars back in the day does not seem to be logical. The reason being, that cars are supposed to improve with time. If a car that has been introduced more than a decade later and is comparatively bigger in size, it is supposed to withstand minor off-roading conditions due to its tyres and suspension. If you ask Kia, they will tell you everything about Sportage's amazing suspension but is it only for driving the car on smooth and silk roads? No. I don't know why people say 'What else do you get in such a price range?" when there is nothing to blow you away. It's interior is as awful as it could get with plastic every where. It is just that the car is new that people are going crazy over it, I would never spend 5 million on such a car.

If you are offering a car for 5 million and with a size that occupies the space of nearly 2 cars, I wouldn't expect it to be so insensitive. Why would I go for a car that seems bigger but is powerless underneath? It is good to have a new entrant in the market but drooling all over it just doesn't make sense.

I was badly stuck in Shara-e-faisa KHI last week when there was heavy rain fall. I've Civic Turbo and half of its wheels dipped in water but water didn't come inside, though i was stuck like 3hrs there. That shows Sportage has leakage issue dear or might be in this particular vehicle has. It feels you're defending KIA..

The point is... if we have the same water inside the other cars parked in the same situation on the same road.... the answer is NO i was there in that video and checked the car personal. I feel that kia is not up to that standard where it should be in that amount of purchase. There is nothing like JDM cars specially in that amount one should go for toyota CHR not the local plastic interior of kia spotage

With all the due respect, this seems a paid review. A car worth 5 Mn if started leaking this way, then this is a clear sign of serious quality issues with the same. Even of not that value, a new car like Mehran or Cultus would never face such issues of water leakage. If this is because of panoramic roof, even then this must not happen with a car worth that much of money. There is a serious need of an independent body who review such faults and report accordingly. I expected this review to be Independent but unfortunately it was not. Sunil should realize this ASAP. I believe Honda Vezel is a way better option being highly reliable, technologically advance as well fuel economical. Honda’s SUVs are considered to be most reliable amongst compact SUVs segment.

my friend ford explorer had the same issue, rainwater was coming inside from pillar. after investigating the company found the same water drainage blocked with dust and water was not going from the proper channel, after cleaning the sunroof water drainage, his car fine.

Sunil i used to saw your reviews and i supposed u a very honest and gentleman. I'm also having very good knowledge about automobiles. Infact i learned few thing from your videos. Like u made on Catalytic Converter. Well. I having toyota Harrier 2nd generation 2004 model. 300g grade. Mean full option Panaromic Roof As well. My car always parked in Dusty area and i m never clean it up even weekly. But. I never faced water dropping scene in side the cabin. Really its very afraid for Kia. And. I'm agreed to u car not for water proof. But. My Accord CL7 dipped half from doors but. No single drop of water was came inside. So doors rubber or doors alignment are responsible in this scene. And do not ever defend and faulty thing. Avoid to defame yourself. Look the comments. What people thinking about your this review.

I had Toyota Corolla GLI 2011 (facelifted) usmein bhi roof se water leakage ka problem thaa mere cousins ke paas bhi thi same model but un mein nahi tha. Gli mein sunroof tou nahi but still water roof se cabin mein girta thaa. I still remember hub Sindh mein 2012 mein flood wagera aya thaa tub yeh issue aya tha.. But car mein ne slope par park kee this Jahan par paanii nahi khara tha.. Baqi Overall wo model legendry thaa behtreen abhi mere pass Corolla 2017 model hai and To be honest old model zyada acha that .. That was my opinion.

Pak wheel has built a strong credibility for it self by giving candid and unbiased reviews for various car brands. Water leakage issue in sportage is an example of poor craftsmanship and quality control. I expect pak wheels to expose it rather than defend it by lame argument. This will be good for the buyers as well as for the company which will exercise higher degree of quality check and improvement

Suneel you're right....I own a civic and had an issue with the water seeping into the floor mat if the car is subjected to water above 7"....I believe it's impossible for kia to have that much water seep into the car, it's a hoax and a pre-planned scheme to gain views and traction. I believe kia has top notch quality and yes few issue may arise but they wouldn't be this much worse, I believe in coming years kia will improve.

I drove Suzuki Ciaz with more or less the same water level that was shown in the video where they were using cloth to take the water outside, but never faced any problem of water coming inside the car. Actually, there are drain holes inside doors also that are similar to the ones located in sunroof from where water can come outside the car instead of going inside. Typical Pakwheels always bashing Honda and praising other car manufacturers especially KIA and Toyota.

Well said. KIA Sportage is a compact SUV platform which is design to take more abuse and a sedan and speaking of water leaking in the vehicles through floods, It is usually in a very extreme case and with that kind of damage it may be plausible that water might also go into engines. Looking at that video the flood water covers around 30% of the wheel which is low and the seals can work in that case. If seals are not design to take in that water than how can someone expect that seals will work when we take the vehicle for Pressurized car wash where water pressure is very high and can pass through.

I have experienced that recently heavy rain in karachi i was in my corolla and rain was thunderstorm but i never saw a single drop of water in the vehicle... Even my city which is quite old 2006 model can handle that type of rain.

Yeah bro it clearly shows that build quality might not be to the standard. If I was to invest that much money into a vehicle I will stay away from Korean brands as they are still very much new and have experienced horror story with my friend. The brand has grown alot but in terms of reliability I bet once you reach 100k Kms people will feel a big change in fuel economy, Will start to develop electrical and mechanical problems. One of my Friend owns a Hyundai elentra with the same 2.0 engine (Hyundai and KIA are from same company), She developed a timing chain issue right after 110k kms with very mild city drive.
