Kia Vs. Porsche - Which is Better in the Snow? (Kia Telluride vs. Porsche Cayenne)

How good is the Kia Telluride's AWD system vs. a Porsche's? While not an apples to apples comparison, we'll be testing my 2022 Kia Telluride AWD vs. my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo to see which vehicle performs better in snowy and icy conditions. The tires have the most to do with grip. The Porsche may have high-performance tires that have very limited grip below 40 degrees.

I am not sure why make an unfair and unjust comparison. There's no sense! As a few commentators stated, take them for a bunch of tests and see how a 15 year older Cayenne can beat the heck out of that KIA. In any case, enjoy both rides.

You should have used the same tires on each to really know. Most of this all comes down to the tires so you didn't really prove the kia was better at all

How da hell do you have a 2023 tellluride with snow 🛞 vs a 2008 Cayenne with old all season worn 🛞. 15 years of difference between both vehicles. Why not have a 2023 cayenne vs it. 911 in garage and cayenne there. It’s an embarrassment that you did this test. 2014 CS. Worst comparison I’ve ever seen on KZbin.

Your main issue is you didn't have snow tires I'm either of the vehicles which you should have them on after the temperature is below 40° as they are a winter tire just as much as they are a snow tire because when a All Season or summer Tire gets to be less than 40 degrees the weather it's very hard and loses all extraction that's why you need all four wheels to have snow tires on them. If you would have had GENERAL ALTIMAX ARCTIC 12 snow tires on wouldn't have even spun your tires. I have tried every single snow tire there is out there for the last 35 years and for the price you are not going to get any better Tire then the GENERAL ALTIMAX ARCTIC 12. The best tire for deep snow is the Bridgestone Blizzak but if you want to save money and only have a little less deep traction then the general is the way to go as they are much cheaper endless at least two seasons compound is very soft and you have to take them off before 402 °. I once used the General's fall season for three seasons and they were able to still work and have enough depth work the snow out

Why not try snow mode? Defaults to an 80/20 ratio I think. Did smart mode show snow mode?

It did not. Off camera, I tried snow mode and it indeed cut power and didn't allow enough wheel spin. Snow mode is better for starting off though because it applies the power more gradually to prevent wheel spin.

You’re trying to justify paying wayyyy too much for the Kia, not a real performance test in the snow. This should be titled driveway test. 😂

Not only is this a poor comparison, but your comment about "needing wheel spin" to get up the hill is very misguided. The cutting of power to the wheels is exactly what you want to get LOW wheel spin. It's the same reason you'd want to use a higher gear when navigating through icy roads or getting your vehicle moving from a stop because if you have higher revs you're just going to slip.

This might be the dumbest “which is better” videos I’ve ever seen. Test them both with new tires or test them with winter tires, but to have completely different tires, including one that the guy says is nearly bald is just plain stupid.

La Kia est vraiment vilaine, j’ai une ancienne Porsche Cayenne Turbo et en mettant des bons peneus je monte dans ma région de montagne en Valais 🇨🇭 sans patiner. Alors quand je vois la petite pente de cette essaie je peux que constater que les peneus ne sont pas bons . Porsche et Audi ont le meilleur 4X4 aux monde d’ailleurs la même Porsche Cayenne Turbo que la mienne a gagné le transsibérien. Une compétition de deux mois dans les pires conditions extrêmes en Russie. Alors cette essaie est nulle
