You made some valid points, but I noticed you mostly spoke from your own perspective, which is fine, but I still strongly disagree with working on weekends. You said, "karna padega" because it’s India, and the work culture here doesn’t emphasize employee rights as much-it just keeps stretching endlessly. But you’re well aware of how companies exploit that, with toxic work environments and wasting employees' time. I’ve worked with KZbinrs too, and honestly, many of them are fake. I firmly believe there should be a healthy work-life balance, or at least some employee benefits and real motivation, rather than just sharing your personal stories. I remember working for an agency where I regularly pulled 12-hour days, and honestly, I enjoyed it because the company’s culture was great. The people there, including our CEO, made it worth the effort. I should mention I’m also a graphic designer, so I get it-if the work environment is supportive, you don’t mind putting in extra hours. The point is, yes, there are times when you might need to work weekends or overtime, but companies need to understand that employees are their backbone. It’s not just about “karna padega” on weekends; it’s about whether the company respects and values the time and effort employees invest. If the company is thriving, it’s because of the hard work we put in, so it’s only fair that they create a positive work environment in return. And I get it, as a business owner, you have to manage your budget and operations, but if you can’t afford to treat people fairly, then maybe being an entrepreneur isn’t for you. Don’t pay less and expect to squeeze out more from employees just to get your own goals accomplished-that’s the issue. As a graphic designer with 9 years of experience, I think the younger generation of designers today should absolutely work hard and gain experience, but they also deserve a company that values them. The relationship between an employee and their company should be a two-way street-employees should work hard, but companies need to recognize that effort and create a culture where people actually want to contribute.

You have the Best take I read on the internet on this issue. I wanted to say exactly this but couldn't put it into words as well you have. Just like him I have seen people painting it as if the people are weak who are not able to take pressure that it start to sound like college seniors. You newbies are week we went through same ragging and bullying why can't you take it ? Why do you complain about it ? Be tough. With so much of talk around mental health on the Indian internet in recent years it should have been easy to understand that it's mental torcher which is why it's called toxic work culture and not because there's too much work or have to work on weekends. Each and every working person has experienced it that when the environment around is supportive you are more productive and able to work for longer duration. But I guess people just didn't learn anything, they were just blindly boarded the mental health train and then left when it went out of trend.

I think one of the most real personalities in KZbin , it was hard to convey your point but we understand the point , there should be balance even when extra work is there you need to be in a positive work environment to be able to pull in those extra work as you said the lady ordering food getting a cab etc these are encouraging signs for your to put in that extra effort

I feel there's a problem in the shift from college to a job. In college you don't have to think about staying late or even bother about anything, except you have to study. Moreover, when they switch immediately to job they face a sudden transition and an unexpected shock that their lives will not be that free as it was. And now they have to work till late. They have to bring creativity in a time bound manner, which wasn't the case in college. You had week's time to complete an assignment but now you have a day or two.

Sath hi yah do logon ke upar bhi pressure hai ki tum kam karo nahin to tumhen nikal kar kisi aur Ko rakh liya jaega kyunki Kam karne wale bahut koi hai. Good video. You have talked about things which normally people don't talk about, but should talk. After working in IT industry for donkey number of years - what i can say is, 'work hard , party hard' is not going to take one a long way. Consider work as work, whether your own company or working in a job. Best method is what Scandinavian countries follow. 8 hours work. Go home. Spend your time the way you want. Dont wait for weekends. If we can do this in our Bangalore/India, you got it all sorted. 😊

bro im a "millennial" working in the video game industry outside of India. I agree that working overtime is fairly common in this industry no matter where... but... the difference comes when things become a little inhuman... idhar OT karwate hai par, ive rarely felt an inhuman treatment from my bosses, when you are under pressure you can go talk to people and most of the times theyll try to help... but during my time working in india , MNCs with clients from abroad of course, you get the feeling like they dont care... they just want the work done... thats what happened with the pune incident as well... no body even bothered to even attend the funeral.... you are just another disposable employee... thats where things go wrong.

Problem is not long working days or even working on weekends. Problem is exploitation. If my I am completing my legal working hours (which is 48 hours a week, no more then 9 hours a day & no more then 48 hours a week), I am totally okay with working on weekends as far the company is paying me money for overtime. But they want us to stay on our toes even on weekends & they don't even want to pay us for our overtime working hours. That is when people feel, they don't have any option.
