Thanks for sharing Ella, I really appreciate your video:) I just finished a Kickstarter and still am working out the adrenalin my body accumulated. For most of my peers in the independent music world it is a fine tool to make a dream come true:) The All or Nothing approach (you only get the money if you reach the goal - if not no ones credit card gets charged) was something I liked that brought more credibility to Kickstarter versus some other funding sites.

pablo you have to be careful when you are posting to youtube, if the youtube bot recognizes that you did a copy and paste entry it will likely automatically tag it as spam (which is what happed to this post) you won't notice it, so you need to log out and go to the vid to notice (or use incognito page). just type everything

All or nothing is good, but a choice of options including all or nothing is better. Indiegogo gives you that option and is not tied to Amazon, it allow you to use paypal (internet standard).

Sorry to hear it didn't work, but good to hear that you didn't give up I signed up with indiegogo did a practice run, then a real campaign, the real campaign was overfunded in less than 4 hours. If you think you have a good idea, there are at least 5 of those crowd funding sites -- pitch it to all of them Keys to success - early donation min $100 in 3 days, and 25% of goal within a week. If you get those numbers you should be good. I will be promoting campaigns on the regular soon

I had a peek at some of the projects to sponsor. There were some interesting puppeteers who needed money to build puppets; Two women who are designing a vintage-themed lingerie line (but to receive any 'goodies' in return for your donation you have to be a high roller - go figure); and a group of men who have raised aggregious ammounts of money to travel to Texas for the sole purpose of eating meat - in the name of 'art' ?!?(sounds like out-of-work politicians....)

Most businesses use other people's money. That is why the Dot Com Boom happened. and of course the collapse hurt the economy, but I think people have the right to try and get funding before they buy it. It is called test marketing in the businesses world. Usually limited to a region but in Kickstarter case, it limits to people willing to pre-order stuff.
