I wouldn't consider Kid Buu holding back the spirit bomb an indication of his power vs ultimate gohan and the others. I think kid buu was able to push It back because Goku was too weak to even push the bomb at all given the immense size of it.

I was thinking this when they brought it up. It’s kind of obvious too considering kid buy slaps super saiyan goku but soon as he got his energy back and turned, his spirit bomb killed buy. It implies that he just needed energy to push the spirit bomb. Im pretty sure even during the clash vegeta says he’s to exhausted to fully use the spirit bomb which is what led to the wish being granted

That's assuming Janemba is relative to Kid Buu in power, and there is not enough to make that claim. The main story and the movie are not part of the same reality, similar to the Future and the present in Dragon Ball. What might be true in the future is not necessarily true in the present.

I got Janemba. He bullied a stronger version of Super Saiyan 3 Goku while suppressed while the weakest form of Buu was around the level of a sort of early version of Super Saiyan 3 Goku. Janembas regeneration is just as good as Buus, so even if his techniques get copied mid-fight he can shrug them off and keep fighting. I don't necessarily believe Experience is a factor with Kid Buu considering he toys with his opponents so much and is so wild when he fights (If anything I'd say Janemba is a more exemplary representation of an experienced fighter despite not being around for the same amount of time.) Granted, Janemba did his fair share of toying with enemies, but he just looks like a more precise, better, and smarter fighter based on his performance. With his reality warping he could probably making one of Buu's energy attacks hit himself- Meaning his body will probably break apart a lot during the Battle. (Especially so if we're taking his supposed higher AP into account.) Holding the Spirit Bomb doesn't mean much since that move is literally meant to combat evil forces, fighting against it just means he had enough power to combat it, and I feel like Janemba would be capable of doing the same thing (I'm not saying he'd push it back, however it's very likely he could since this is a weaker goku we're looking at. All I'm saying is he has the power to go against it.) I mean, if Kid Buu is literally Mortal Evil incarnate and Janemba is just as evil, why shouldn't he be able to?

Janemba easily wins. Kid Buu wasn't going all out against Goku, but he certainly wasn't holding back or going easy. Janemba, though, completely dominates SSJ3 Goku while toying with him. Goku and Vegeta didn't even consider fusing against Buu.

I didn't think about this until they brought it up, but Janemba doesn't even do the typical power up until Gogeta appears. Cell does the same thing where he just fights Goku and then powers up against SSJ2 Gohan and Goku says he's way stronger than he thought.

I don't know, I think Janemba takes the cake. He bodied True SSJ3 Goku (Dead) and SSJ2 Vegeta (Dead) and made them fuse. UnTrue SSJ3 Goku (Alive) and (Dead/Alive) Vegeta ran fades with Kid Buu for a while before they resorted to the spirit bomb

Goku never needed to push it before. He only launched it vs Vegeta and Freeza. The Spirit Bomb pushed itself onto Vegeta and Freeza. It needed pushed vs Buu because it couldn’t push itself onto Buu - it needed Goku’s help (for the first time ever).

I mean Vegeta did dodge it by Krillin but didn't expect Gohan to bounce it back and hit him. Frieza did have a bit to brace for the impact but still found out a bit late. I guess it would be similar to Cell getting hit by Goku's warp Kamehameha. Don't get me wrong, Buu is strong af. I mean, he wasn't a martial artist and didn't have the vast arsenal of techniques that Goku had but he still was able to out stamina him and turn the tides in his favor. He literally beat a ssj3 Goku, ssj2 Vegeta (twice if you wanna include both of their breaks) and Majin Buu. Then was able to hold a massive spirit bomb back, made from the people of earth and namek..... The evil pink monster is broken.... although Goku was completely drained but that besides the point of my original comment. I was saying that him holding back the Spirit Bomb, doesn't prove that he was stronger than potential unlocked Gohan. Who was easily soloing a Super Buu.

I had a thought about this, but the only way Kid Buu and Janemba could possibly be relative, is if we ignore the act Super Saiyan 3 Goku shook the entire afterlife by powering up, which is why I thought the movie version of Goku is way too powerful, but if you equalize Janemba and Kid Buu then I'd give it to Kid Buu because I think Kid Buu might have the slight edge with hax abilities like absorption, turning him into candy, etc..but without being equalized, Janemba should win since his mere existence kinda messed with the concepts of life and death, bringing all the villains that died back to life.

I think Janemba takes this more times than not. He pretty handly beat a stronger ssj3 goku than the one that fought kid buu. Sure the movie and anime goku are different but you could scale kid buu up or you could scale the movie down. Either way Janemba pretty much washed stronger versions of goku and vegeta. I always believed Janemba scaled more to super buu and not kid buu. (I go by fat buu, skinny buu, kid buu, super buu, buff buu, buu piccolo, buutenks, then buuhan ) Goku was able to hold his own against a suppresed janemba for a bit but nowhere near as long as he did in a weaker body against a suppressed buu. I think the only way buu wins is if he tires janemba out, absorbes him, or turnes him to candy. We haven't really seen how much stamina janemba has so its possible buu could outlast him. I also don't think Janemba has any defence against candy beam or absorption.

Plus there is multiple times where it's outright proven that each movie follows the same continuity, I.e mentioning previous villains and reoccurring characters exclusive to said movies (Like Gohans random dragon). Meaning this Goku LITERALLY scales off of every feat from previous movies, except he's much stronger; his strongest save for the Wrath of the Dragon movie. Anime doesn't scale to Movie whatsoever and this is a one-sided stomp for Janemba. Goku tells Vegeta that he was holding back on Kid Buu so that Vegeta could have a shot and if he powered up to maximum he could beat him. This is said after he'd already had a prolonged fight with Buu so it holds enough weight to be considered true. Both of them agree that if they brought Gohan to the planet that Buu would be no problem, which debunks the idea that the target needs power comparable to what was used to form the Spirit Bomb.SSJ1 Goku is who pushes the bomb into Buu and gets the kill even though Buu was pushing it back previously. All of this implies that SSJ3 Goku in the Buu Saga is relative to Kid Buu and even slightly above him rather than significantly weaker. The Goku in Fusion Reborn is a lot stronger than the one in Canon. Canon shakes the Earth while Movie shakes the Afterlife. Fat Janemba is compared to Fat Buu by Goku and he makes short work of him once he goes SSJ3. He was also fighting him in SSJ2 before that point. The worst part is that Janemba pulled a Cell and didn't do the power up against Goku and was actually way stronger than we thought and he still handled Goku, but of course Gogeta is the SSJ2 Gohan in this situation.

A good way to tell these two apart is, how would the spirit bomb measure up to Gogeta? They both essentially obliterate their opponent with no diff. It is clear that the spirit bomb was far stronger than Buu but Goku didn’t have the strength to pull it off, so it got pushed back. Buu knew what would happen if he got hit by it so he genuinely was going full power. Gogeta is basically relative to Vegito, and Vegito stomped BuuHan, and BuuHan is stronger than kid Buu. Goku thought that the only way to win Buutenks/BuuHan was to fuse and not the spirit bomb. I may be wrong about this since Super Buu wiped all of mankind. Buuuut, I feel like needing a fused fighter means more than using a spirit bomb.

Fat janemba showed a little of his power and goku said he could destroy the universe 3.) Was fighting a ssj2 goku that should be stronger than cannon goku 4.) Has crazy hax abilities like cloning etc And on another note I think people tend to underestimate how much Super Janemba was holding back against goku. Even in a heldvack state virtually no attack that ssj3 goku gave him did no lasting damage and Janemba was smiling at him. We only saw him go full power against Gogeta which really didn't help.

well lets put it this way when it comes to reality warping. Buu(specifically buuhan) was ONLY able to warp reality on a scale approaching janembas when he got mad and desparate. In other words he tapped into his inner anger induced additional power and became strong enough ki wise to rip space and time and warp reality. If we go under the commonly adopted consensus that kid buu at the very least was weaker then buuhan, and that the ability to warp reality is indeed directly correlated with how strong you are( also see this in super with zenos abolute power in being able to delete dimensions making him the absolutely top of the food chain or broly's fight with gogeta where their fight exuded so much power that it broke reality) then since kid buu has shown no ability to even remotely alter reality, he should be weaker then janemba, even fat janemba. Breaking reality is definitely something that is achieved when you have enough power to do so.

Buu in general has a lot of abilities, i doubt anyone could really keep up with him if he trained like Goku and desire to fight like Goku. his ability to adapt and absorb damage seems to me the most admirable traits of his. what i would say is getting each character from a level base and placing them in hyper bolic time chamber and try to assess who would get the most gains, while each trained with Goku in the time chamber.

Also I went back to the supposed calculations that say the Universe shaking feat in FR is only Solar System level, that is absolute nonsense. The calculations are based off how actual earthquakes work, meaning they calculated all the shaking to be the same scale which would inherently not be true. If we’re comparing the universes here, then Jenemba. Buu imp would have slightly more raw power and speed than Janemba since Buu held his own fairly well when clashing with ss3 Goku in a raw fight, while Janemba was taking blows from ss3 Goku more often in a raw fight. How ever, Janemba’s abilities are why I’d say he’d beat Buu. Once he used his abilities, he nearly killed ss3 Goku. And even if Kid Buu was playing with Goku, Goku stated to Vegeta that he could’ve been able to obliterate Buu in ss3 if he had went for the kill, but didn’t to give Vegeta a chance to fight, while ss3 Goku at full power almost got killed by Janemba. Janemba can bend space by creating portals, warp reality by turning objects into powerful weapons such as his sword and Janemba may as well be as difficult to kill as Buu if not more. He’s the product of multiple corrupted souls. It’s probably why he had such a simple weakness to go along with his durability. Also reason why Gogeta used soul punisher to not kill, but free the evil that created him. Over all. It’d be an amazing battle, but I have to go with Janemba based on ability here.

I think janemba would win. We know that in the movie verses each movie scales above the next. If m8 broly was said to slap the entirety of the dbz anime, then its safe to assume janemba would dominate, not counting special abilities. Also there's the fact that he beat down on ssj3 movie goku (who is probably stronger than Canon z goku) easier than buu did. Remember goku just lost to much power to stay ssj3 vs buu. He actively got beat up out off ssj3 by janemba. Though there is one thing that can flip this argument. In one of Seth's older collabs with geekdom about Canon goku vs movie goku, it is said that Canon goku's power reached to the Supreme Kai world, a planet outside the actual macrocosm. They consider this above the afterlife shake. If this is the case then Buu would win with mid difficulty. If you consider these afterlife shake as equal or above this then janemba would slap hands down.

This seems to be a really difficult concept to grasp for many people, but the movies and the show are NOT directly connected to each other. They take place in two different dimensions or realities. It doesn't matter what is stated if the statement holds no validity. There have been many instances in which exaggerated statements have been made about characters in order to build them up. Dyspo was stated to be faster than light multiple times, but the speed of light is something achieved way back in the Dragon Ball Manga. Goku could say he is using 100x more power than he did against Majin Buu, but if he can't blow up a Planet, then in the main continuity, Saiyan Saga Vegeta would be more powerful, because he could easily destroy a Planet. Feats and statements, but those statements have to be valid, have evidence to support that claim.

For instance, Takao Koyama, Chief Writer of the Z Anime and ALL of its movies, has stated that Broly is the absolute strongest character in the TV series. He also says that he is not stronger than Beerus or Golden Frieza, since those were Z Movies. This statement was also said AFTER GT had ended, and since GT is a DIRECT sequel to the Z Anime, Takao Koyama could ALSO be insinuating that Z Broly is stronger than anyone in GT, but that is still on the fence. All I’m getting at is that it depends on who says these statements as well. Also, Toriyama never butted in or said anything against what Koyama was stating either.

Well if you equalize the universes you could scale Janemba up to kid buu I would think. Since in the movie they say Janemba is the product of an accident from the evil powers of the universe overflowing and consuming an afterlife attendant. So if you took it as he gained all of their power you then have Janemba who in his fat form with the power of, Fat buu since Goku says in that movie that he did fight him and insinuates that he didn't let him live like main timeline, Super Perfect Cell, Dabura, Babidi, Majin Vegeta potentially and the androids. It also shows Bojack in the movie as well but i'm not sure how that works fully since he was outside his body. But arguing that is weird because some people are just fine outside of Janemba such as Bojack and Vegeta while others like fat buu don't appear. So even using that method I described you would only be able to give him the characters they fought that don't show their bodily selves in the movie.

Janemba is very overestimated. Ssj3 goku in the movie is the same as goku during the boo saga. The majority of people don’t understand how the dbz movies are placed. In raw power janemba, ssj3 goku, and kid boo are roughly the same. In the end though. Most of janembas damaging moves are slice and dice attack. Which is useless against kid boo. The strongest energy wave we saw janemba do did minimal superficial damage to ssj3 goku. Nowhere near enough to destroy kid boo. Without a single attack that can completely wipe out kid boo, janemba literally has no way to win.

SSJ3 Goku was an angel against Janemba which meant he did not have the ki issues his human body had. SSJ3 Goku absolutely was equal or even stronger than Kid Buu. Buu's regenerative powers meant he would always outlast Goku 1v1. The power gap wasn't enough for Goku to land a finishing blow on him. Janemba was outright superior. He basically oneshotted Vegeta while he managed to take a beating from Buu for quite awhile. Janemba might even be Buutenks or Buuhan level as it took Gogeta to kill him. He did it quickly due to lack of screen time.

The thing with the movie characters powerscaling with the main timeline is just how inconsistent the power difference is. Let's use the Broly movie as an example, Koyama who is the main writer of all the movies said that Broly is the strongest character he's ever created, meaning he is stronger than characters like Janemba, Harudigarn and possibly even Gogeta from Fusion reborn. So for Broly being this powerful, it makes no sense that Goku from the movie is even comparable to Cell saga Goku, he'd have to be far stronger than him to even compete with Broly. Which is why people just scale the characters based from that specific movie (or sequels that are continuations of that story).

Its because the movie character are stronger then their anime counter parts. Suppressed Broly was able to destroy an entire Galaxy over time, which makes him multi-solar system level, stronger than Cell. The author of Broly actually gave us a timespan on how long it would've taken him to destroy the universe. he said in months, under a year, so in LSSJ he's easily Galaxy level. Goku during movie 3 had a power level of 30,000 while fighting against Turles. Goku later on in the fight used Kaioken x10 and still got no diffed by Turles. Even with a PL of 300,000. Remind you that this fight takes places after the Sayian Saga, but before the Frieza Saga. So this Goku would be able to stomp his post training anime version during the Namek Arc.

I think kid buu wins cause of he has regen and basically never gets tired and janemba hasn't really shown any kind of super powerful blast attack that could completely destroy him in one hit so the fight will keep going until either buu kills or absorbs him, but I really think yall downplayed janemba cause he should be WAY stronger than buu cause while buu was fighting on pretty much equal footing with ssj3 goku, Janemba had goku literally running for his life, ssj3 is NOT enough to keep up with janemba. Even if you try to say buu wasn't going all out, neither was janemba and he was beating goku way worse with way less effort. Goku needed ssj3 to fight the fat form of janemba so you know his final form has to be way stronger than that. I just don't think janemba has the right techniques to finish the job cause you can't just cut up buu and expect him to die, but if you give janemba the benefit of the doubt and say he can use generic ki blast like everyone else can then he should be able to cut buu to pieces and blow up the pieces pretty easily but since he didn't show that he could do that I gotta give the W to buu cause he just won't die otherwise, but if it was just up to power Janemba should win in a landslide, imo.

My thing is, Janemba hasn't shown any attacks that would actually finish any form of Buu.. His primary form of attacks are laceration based. What's he gonna do? Shred buu or slice him up with his sword? He'd have to pull something we've never seen from him before and that kinda ends the discussion right there. In this case, you can quite literally scale ssj3 goku in the movie to be at BARE MINIMUM the same as the buu saga goku, the buu events happened regardless of wether or not the movie fits back into the main timeline. Okay my main argument is that janemba is stronger then kid buu, is that it took Gogeta in ssj to beat him arguably one of the strongest character in dbz and dbs. since the jelly bean was talked about and it's on super cell level janemba easily sliced one in half wouldn't be safe to assume that he could slice buu in half

Kid Buu is weaker than ssj3 Goku change my mind. Goku was destroying him until he lost his power and Buu kept regenerating. Goku stood ZERO chance against Janemba Let's say their Goku's are equal. I'd say Janemba still got this. Y'all didn't talk about any of his other hax. Also Spirit bomb has nothing to do with the strength of its givers
