This was really interesting. Kid is one of my favorite characters. At first I didn't really care for him, but when I saw how he reacted to Killer in Wano my heart kidna melted and I took a new look at him. I also seriously LOVE how he and Law interacts. Damn great video but it's also made me realize that Kidd getting over his PTSD from getting betrayed may lead him to form an alliance with Luffy to go and take down Shanks just to bring the whole thing full circle but the problem is that I don't see Luffy having any need for an alliance to fight another Yonko after this arc so I don't think this will happen but Shanks and Kidd must confront each other again, I at least want to know why Shanks went so far as to take Kidd's arm, he's usually really chilled edit: I just remembered there was a theory about BM going to elbaf this could lead to a true Kidd vs BM fight again where Kidd finally learns to use conqueror's coating and actually beats BM while Luffy will be able to defeat Shanks both reaching their potential with Luffy finally becoming that "great pirate"and Kidd finally bringing down a Yonko win-win

Well, just because Shanks is normally chill, it doesn't mean he can't be ruthless in battle. There's a scene where, before Shanks goes to meet Whitebeard, a fleet of marine ships try to stop him. We don't see the battle, but we see the aftermath: Flaming debris and carnage everywhere. Plus, don't forget that time when Shanks' crewmate shot that bandit in Luffy's backstory. So compared to that, Shanks actually went easy on Kid. An arm is a small price to pay compared to everything else I just mentioned.

I think oda fucked up in the writing of him this arc because of the way kaido and bigmoms durability has been portrayed it makes no sense for kid to hurt them as much as the others with blunt damage. An interesting detail I noticed is the associated colours. Luffy is red, Law is blue, and Kid is purple. The idea that Kid is a rival and eventually stand in Luffys (and by extent of their alliance) Laws way is not only cool but I think extremly probable. It would also be cool for a bittersweet 'fight between rival-friends' to be somewhere on the end road for Luffy. Also law is the success story of Golden Shiki. Shiki failed to recruit Roger( which occured before Roger became pirate king) , whereas Law was successfull in forming alliance with Luffy (which has occured before luffy became pirate king). I think Oda sensei is trying to share us the stories of Roger, Whitebeard and Shiki through Luffy, Kidd and Law.

I really wonder what Oda is going to do with Kid as a character. Although i can see Kid going up against Shanks at Elbaf i don't think it would turn out well for Kid. Unless he teams up with Blackbeard which could work but would make Kid pretty Irredeemable from the Straw hats perspective. I find it interesting that both pirates he is based on are both privateers, with captain William Kidd being famous for ending up getting excuted due to a shift in the political climate. Oda could easily use this by making Kid the final pirate of the story since the destruction of the red line will cause a change in the political climate of the one piece world. Fits well with the Rebel theme of Eustass "captain" Kid.

Ive stated before that Kid, for as underwhelming as he has been thus far. Truly does have the Devil Fruit of a God. Magnetic Powers can be used possibly endlessly in so many aspects. Your talking not only like everything Magneto did like pulling Iron and metal from peoples bodies or controlling them, but ElectroMagnetism as well. Kidd could theoretically control the entire planet, and seperately since most of the planet is made of Iron any bit of it individually as well, then he can fully make Electricity and probably Plasma as well.

@@supahx1421 The iron in peoples' bodies isn't even that magnetic. Hell, the scene where Magneto ripped the iron from the guard's chest was WAY more realistic. And even then, Mystique had to inject the guard with a buttload of iron for it to work in the first place. So Risotto ripping out razors from people actually doesn't make sense in hindsight, especially since most people have just about an average of 4 grams of iron in their bodies. One small razor blade is about one gram. But Risotto was able to rip out hundreds of razors from Doppio? Completely unrealistic.

Even Killer and Zoro, their first mates, are similar. They both have no Devil Fruit, they are both more reasonable and level-headed than their captain. They both are independent enough that they'd be their own leader if not for their amazing captains (Killer being counted as one of the "Worst Generation" by himself, and Zoro having infamy as a "Pirate Hunter" before meeting Luffy, commanding a huge bounty, and multiple people questioning how a subordinate is so strong). They also both use multiple blades in their attack styles. Zoro has one blade more than Killer, perhaps showing his superiority. They even both fought each other in Wano where it was plain to see their similarities. Zoro only won once he got hold of a 3rd blade, they were more evenly matched when they both only had 2 blades; I wonder if Killer wearing a mask (and now his permanent "face alteration") is to show that he can never wield 3 blades, and therefore cannot surpass Zoro? Even regarding Roof Piece, besides Law, it's Luffy, Zoro, Kidd, and Killer who are on the rooftop. This further solidifies the parallel. Finally, without spoilers, Killer may have made his "sacrifice" to protect Kidd from someone more powerful than any of them, just like how Zoro made a sacrifice against Kuma to protect Luffy.

They keep breaking out of prison and insane Asylums. 2. They both love laughing at other peoples dreams, and torturing/tormenting other people whenever they mock those peoples dreams, but they don’t like how people mock them and their dreams. 3. They both have the most insane laughters in their series., and 4. They both have body counts of dead bodies reaching the trillions, but yet their respective authors don’t kill off those characters permanently, so yes it makes perfect sense as to why Oda would keep Killer having a Smile Devil Fruit ability just like how DC writers just don’t have Joker from The Batman comics as a permanent Compassion Lantern if they’re not going kill him off permanently.

If I remember correctly, Kid has something against the Tenryubito too. It is said in his Vivre Card that he became a pirate with the intent to rebel against the "scums" that rules the world. He could hate Shanks because he knows something about him and the Tenryubito that we (and Luffy) still don't know about. In One Piece Red trailer, we can also see that Shanks seems to have a pretty cynical way to see life. It's weird considering his past with the Pirate King who was of the same kind as Luffy, but maybe he didn't live those moments the same way as we may think. Both Shanks and Kid are characters I really want to see more about, and I think it'll come sooner than we think. Both are extremely important characters for the end of One Piece, yet we still don't know much about either. I can see a pattern.

my theory is that the crew isn't heading to Elbaf but back to Alabasta to reinstall Vivi on her throne- coming out of an arc where a kingdom was destroyed by their sovereign being frivolous (Oden) it makes zero sense for Vivi to join the crew at the expense of her kingdom. Me thinks that the great event that the Strawhat grand fleet achieves heralded out of the Dressarosa arc is protecting Alabasta from Blackbeard and/or the marines and it's the act that will oficially make Luffy Yonko status

But when it came to it, he showed up to support Luffy's alliance. Kid also accepted taking on Big Mom, leaving Kaido to Luffy. During the Big Mom fight Kid seemingly changed his tone, and at one point said he'd do anything to stop her interfering with Luffy's fight. Luffy and Kid don't have any animosity in the way Akainu and BB do, so I don't see Kid being built as a genuine rival. Remember, Luffy's going to be Pirate King. His greatest power is gathering unlikely allies. I don't think he'd join the Grand Fleet at all, but more like a Bellamy relationship. Maybe Luffy is the one man Kid can respect and align with for the final war.

Ofc only 1 man can do so and Kid’s whole character is “Hothead rebel”. Now after this arc Kid will look at luffy with a new found respect and be essentially humbled by his experience in Wano. I honestly however cannot see Kidd allowing his self to be completely won over by Luffy and even though he’d have changed some after the arc, he’ll still have the rivalry of the one piece alive in him.

Kid is Luffy's Vegeta. Law is the piccolo.. I just realized how far this metaphor goes, if you think about it piccolo has some pretty broken abilities just like law, but Luffy and kid have that drive to be the best, therefore they both get the conquerors haki or super Saiyan.. The difference between Luffy and kid is Luffy wants to get stronger to better himself and protect his friends wants to get stronger to protect his pride. I think it was totally not mark that said this, but Goku will always be the best because he strives to be better than himself while Vegeta strives to be better than Goku. Luffy and Goku don't care if you make fun of them, Vegeta and kid do. That insecurity will always hold them back from being the best.
