All of those bands got hot around the same time. If you listen to Eminem's Everlast diss track "Quitter" he references them with the lyrics "He puts an album out and rules for part of the year (talking about Everlast), then Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit come from outta nowhere. It's the start of an era, rock raps harder this year..." When "Bawitdaba" by Kid Rock or "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit or "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against The Machine came on the radio, you were HYPED!! The 90's was such a great decade for music of so many different genres.

7:42 "something has to get out of hand, something has to pop off." That was the joy of the pit back before people recorded everything. If you had an issue with someone in the pit, y'all settled it right then and there. Then you carried on partying. I know it sounds outlandish in today's culture, but that stuff was brutal lol. There's a reason pits were feared back in the day.

✴️I'm old enough to have experienced "slam dancing" at punk shows. That morphed into mosh pits at metal shows. I was in the pit at an Anthrax show in the mid-90s. Every time I tripped or fell there was always someone to catch me. It was an awesome experience. Then frat boys started throwing fists. People came out bloody. It became a different energy. Less communal aggression, more rage at anybody in your vicinity. I'm glad I experienced the old days. 🤟🏼
@anangrytexan22442 ай бұрын
@@jenniferhill5001 It's sad. I was heavily involved in the Hardcore Scene in the PNW and it started exactly as you described. When the frat bros starting jumping in pits to fight, we fought em back out of necessity. Ended up leading to the demise of the pit in smaller venues in the area.

1000000000% disagree with you on Rage for the Machine. I would say not in any order Anthrax Bring the Noise with Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Aerosmith and Run DMC Walk this Way, maybe the earliest is Run DMC with ROCK BOX and early Beastie Boys right after they changed from punk to hip hop with rock added.
