This is why my husband and I have location shared always with each other. Also, I did DD not too long ago until I figured out another terrible thing about these companies… the financial ruin they can leave you in. I tried to research the insurance side before starting and thought I had it figured out. Not in the middle of a delivery? Insurance pays for it. During a delivery? DD pays for it. I recently discovered something and I believe I was wrong. If you are making a delivery and someone ELSE hits YOU… insurance won’t pay unless you have special insurance to make commercial deliveries and the delivery company only pays if their driver is at fault. If you can’t afford the “special insurance” it’s probably best not to mess with delivery companies like Uber and DD.

Honestly, I've never been a fan of the Uber branch of delivery service & this just helps to keep my conviction. I mean there's been numerous videos about Uber drivers being taken advantage of by punks. All drivers that use Uber/Lyft need to have an internal camera installed as a safety measure to ensure that if anything like this happens, the criminal will be caught & taken into jail.

Everyone who does Gig work long enough knows that 99% of Gig workers don't rely on just one app. The wife didn't say that she's against him doing Doordash, Postmates, GrubHub, etc. just that she is against him doing Uber Eats. And I don't blame her Uber's S1 filing they did to become listed on the stock market said they knew driver dissatisfaction was an issue that will grow as they aim to reduce driver incentives. Eliminating driver safety is one way to do that.
