It was a disney program. It didn't start out at Disney but disney baught the rights after it was cancelled in 1985 and resumed filming and broadcasting in 1986. It ran on the Disney Channel for 10 years last airing in may 1996; and by the way the archives reside with the disney channel and they still to this day own partial rights to the series which is split between 3 different company.

i love this ...i still have Cruel Summer pic in a photo album..i got from Disney Magazine...still in good shape. one of my numver 1's songs and epidsodes. Definitely better then the orginal.

❤ really sad never a anniversary & reboot of the show also i would love to see past cast appearing on it.. Maybe write new songs 4 the show .. since too much legal issues with singing other people songs. The original songs made 4 the show was so perfect

Firstly, I didn't see any clueless looks. Secondly Martika was 15, Renee 10, and Stacy 9. It would be only natural if they would look to her for guidance. In case you hadn't noticed the three of them made one heck of a team.
