She performed CPR in desperation to save her baby not knowing that she was performing the wrong CPR. Then after an unjust trial, she spent 6 and a half years in prison just to be released and treated like any other ex felon until 2012. Like I'm honestly confused how any prosecutor would have the heart to bring Sabrina to court and watch her get sent to prison. This woman is extremely lucky. Thank god she was able to be released and proven innocent to avoid undeserving death. Unfortunately though there are cases where the person isn’t as lucky. Cameron Todd Willing, a father of three young kids, was wrongfully convicted of the death of his children. He fought and claimed he was innocent until his death ordered by the court. It wasn’t until 2011, could have been sooner but the court delayed his investigation wether to see if he was truly innocent or not, he was proven innocent. We took a loving father away from this world and treated him like a monster when he himself was grieving for his children. I cant imagine the level of trauma Sabrina's had to face at the hands of the US legal system. Losing your child with no chance to grieve, immediately charged with something too heinous to even comprehend, spending 6 years in isolation fearing getting murdered by paid government officials. Losing everything you had on release and having to wait years for financial support. Yet shes still here telling her story! Death penalty is truly evil
@ivanvenne5 жыл бұрын
The Death Penalty isn't evil. The Death Penalty is a fair punishment for anyone who has murdered somebody. The problem is when people make a decision without enough evidence. Innocent until proven guilty, there was not enough evidence to convict her but they decided it anyway.
@freezerounds5 жыл бұрын
@@ivanvenne It's not evil, but it's not right. If even just a *single* person who committed no crime can get the death penalty, then there's a problem with the death penalty. If that person is killed and posthumously proven innocent, you can't take that punishment back. It's simply not fair. An irreparable punishment is not fair.
@ivanvenne5 жыл бұрын
@@freezerounds But those desicions where innocent people get the death penalty happen when truly there is not enough evidence to convict them yet. If the court were to wait for more evidence before convicting them than the death penalty will be right. We just need to find a way to do this.
@freezerounds5 жыл бұрын
@@ivanvenne No, I don't think we do. The justice system simply isn't perfect, and the evidence doesn't always tell the true story. The justice system is about punishing the guilty, yes, *but it's also about protecting the innocent.* Part of that is making sure the innocent are protected from the justice system itself. No criminal punishment should be irreparable, because *every* story is subject to change. An inability to change a criminal's punishment is a *failure* of justice. As for the death penalty itself, we can never be *completely* certain for *every case* that the person being put to death is guilty. The *mere existence* of the chance that an innocent person could be wrongly *executed* is already a failure of the justice system.
