Kids Storytime with Guest Author Dr. Angela Williamson

Tune in to watch Kids Storytime with special guest author and friend, Dr. Angela Williamson reading her book “My Life With Rosie: A Bond Between Cousins.” Join us to learn a different side of Rosa Parks only known to the Williamson family.
Lovingly known as Cousin Rosie, Rosa Parks spent most of her adult life living in the City of Detroit after leaving Montgomery, Alabama in 1957. Cousin Rosie forms many special relationships with young people, especially her young cousin, Carolyn Williamson Green. This book helps continue Rosa Parks' legacy and philosophy on activism by teaching young readers how to become change agents in their community.
About the Author:
Dr. Angela Williamson’s 2020 Emmy nominated documentary film “My Life with Rosie,” about the activism of her cousin Rosa Parks that extended beyond Montgomery, has won numerous “Best Documentary” titles at film festivals across the country. Dr. Williamson is a former producer and copywriter for the Orange County News Channel, Fox 11 Television, Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket and a multiple Telly awards recipient. Dr. Williamson hosts a weekly interview show on KLCS PBS “Everybody with Angela Williamson,” which emphasizes diversity within education, the arts, and people. Dr. Williamson is currently an associate communication studies professor at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, CA.
Kid’s Story Time is hosted in partnership with the Chinatown Branch Library.
