It’s pretty interesting to think about. Like, on one hand, it’s refreshing to have more creative freedom with your work. But on the other hand, fewer limitations does kinda limit the creativity a bit - there’s a lot less obstacles to avoid in off-the-wall ways when you can just run in a straight line.

Static Shock changed my life. Rubberband Man was the THAT (later becomes) hero that child me saw and thought "He's just like me". Dyslexic and loves music. Bad roots but not wanting it to define you. I'm almost 30 and he's still my hero. ❤

Static Shock did a masterful job of dissecting the concepts of heroism and villainy. Static never treats anyone he fights as irredeemable, always trying to reach to his enemies as people before subduing them.

I like that you worked in all the references to Bat May. It made perfect sense for this episode, and I don’t know if this whole thing was because there has been so much demand for additional Bat May content. It would be nice if the entire team for Channel Awesome we’re to pitch in for Bat May spinoffs covering all of these various shows in the DCAU, and maybe the other iterations of Batman.

49:37 I remember watching the Zeta Project and I loved it. It was a great DC Cartoon about a robot searching to find his freedom and try to fit into society. It was also great that a teenage girl tries to help Zeta on his quest. The animation was fine in my opinion. Not the best like you said, but the plot and theme of the cartoon was great. Wish it hadn't ended on a cliffhanger.

49:59 The Batman series is my personal favorite. What I loved most about it, is how it chronicles the story of Bruce's journey from lone vigilante to a hero of the world. Tom Kenny as Penguin is just perfect. Each season is open and ended with no cliffhangers. The first season is The Batman saga. The 2nd the Dark Knight saga. The 3rd, the Batgirl saga. The 4th, the Batman and Robin saga. And the 5th, the Brave and the Bold saga. And of course, you have the tv movie Batman vs Dracula.

I remember liking it well enough as a kid, but rewatching it on my "everything in the Diniverse" marathon, I dunno, a lot of it felt a little too "today, on a very special episode of -Dawson's Creek- -Clone High- Static Shock". The day-to-day stuff did NOT resonate with me, and I can't help but feel that must be the case for the people it DID resonate with, as concerns most mainstream media.
