Cool bass. The only 7-string bass I’ve ever tried out was made by Conklin and I thought it was insane. This kiesel bass on the other hand looks and sounds nice. Plus it sounds radical with distortion. 🤘🏻🎸

Just out.of curiosity, do you still have this bass, and have you ran into any issues with it? I have an Emerald Sparkle Green Musicman Bongo 6 HS I am planning g to sell to get one, and I want to make sure what I am getting myself into.
@mindlantern6009 Жыл бұрын
Yes I do still have this bass, and it's still as awesome as the day I got it. Superb craftsmanship and quality. No issues to report, everything still working great. The only hiccup when I first got it was there was no included paperwork or info on what strings Kiesel put on it (since I was having a hard time finding 7 string bass sets), so I emailed them and found out they use a guitar string for the smallest string. You can check out my " Kiesel 7 String Bass String Change" video if you want to see how it's done. Thanks for the comment 🤘
@danikbolduc10912 жыл бұрын
Would it still be somewhat playable if you tuned it to F#,B,E,A,D,G,C? or would it be to low for the factory strings to handle? Should I just change all the strings to tune it that way?
@mindlantern60092 жыл бұрын
I think it would get pretty floppy going that low with the factory strings. A string change to a different gauge would probably work. I might do a test run with my current setup just to see🤘

@mindlantern60094 жыл бұрын
String spacing is perfect. It's just as easy to play as my 6 string! I've played some basses where the strings were too close together, and that's definitely not the case with this one.
@kchang89774 жыл бұрын
@@mindlantern6009 thanks, that's good to know. I've got a Carvin 6 and the strings are close, but comfy 16.25mm. I couldn't find anything on the 7 tho. I'm super impressed by the tone. I really want one now! 😭

Hey, bro. I was wondering a few things: 1. What are the scale lengths of the multiscale on the ZBM7 and can you get it with strings (standard) BEADGCF? Cheers, beautiful instrument!
@mindlantern60092 жыл бұрын
I believe the scale length is around 33.5 inches to 35 inches. And yes, the tuning the bass arrives in is BEADGCF. That is the way I currently use it. Thanks for watching!🤘🏻

@mazereon5 жыл бұрын
It sounds far better than I expected too, the multiscale really helps take the shrill quality that a 34" scale can get on the C and F strings. What are you playing through? Sounds like some Darkglass products in there?

You guessed it! I use a combo of different products normally but for this video I just used the Microtubes B7K Ultra. I love that thing!!🤘

Bottom line. What's the pricetag?
@mindlantern60095 жыл бұрын
For the exact model I got with options, 2700. You can go as low as 1800 if you get basic options, which still gets you one helluva bass.
@iamalpharius94835 жыл бұрын
@@mindlantern6009 nice. Very reasonable for a piece of equipment of that quality. I've played "better" (more expensive) basses that just left me ultimately disappointed. I play a Fender Jazz fretless and it's very, very comfortable and addresses all of my needs. BUT, I have been wanting to .......expand my horizons lately. I have seen these more and more. My buddy Charlie plays them and I believe he is endorsed by Kiesel/Carvin. I will play one this week and see what I think. Very reasonable. My new Fender Tony Franklin Signature fretless was about 1000 less but I would be willing to go the extra. The bass is a prominent instrument in my bands music and I rely on picallo strings to achieve certain tones. This would eliminate the need to change basses for recording and live play. Thank you.
@mindlantern60095 жыл бұрын
@@iamalpharius9483 right on! I used to be solely 4 string but over the years have found too many opportunities to "expand" the sound of the band by adding strings. Now it's hard to go back. You won't be disappointed if you play a kiesel... every time I pick this bass up it still blows me away with how it feels and sounds. Let me know what you think🤘
