Since 2004 Koryu Uchinadi Finland has used the Kihon Concept to teach beginning students practical self-defence oriented karate.
Each set of techniques can be done on three different levels, depending on the outcome and the ability of the students.
The Kihon Concept 2.0 includes the following improvements:
covers a wider range of HAPV:s (Habitual Acts of Physical Violence)
more links to classical kata
more focus on safety (dangerous moves that can’t be drilled with high intensity are left out)
minor adjustments to make existing techniques more functional
The Kihon Concept 2.0 consists of eight sets of techniques, and the most important lessons are summarised in the Kihon dai kata (link at the end of the video).
