浅井空手: 基本・同じ足を使った横蹴りの連蹴り,その一・下段蹴込み&上段蹴上げ:インド・ボンベイ講習会
I have already shared the double kicks with Mae geri 前蹴り and Mawashi geri 回し蹴り.
The third one is probably most challenging as the double kick is side kick, Yoko geri. There are two kinds of this technique.
I will share the easier one (I think) today. I will share the other one tomorrow.
What is most challenging is to keep the supporting foot keep pointing to the front when you start your first kick.
You will pivot the foot by 45 to 60 degrees as you thrust your leg down with Gedan kekomi.
To kick Yoko kekomi, you will rotate your hips, but you need to keep the supporting foot and knee pointing forward.
To do this, you need to twist your upper leg, the thigh of the supporting leg. The first kick is to stop the opponent by kicking his advancing leg, and/or to deflect his attention.
Caution:
If you are not familiar with this technique of twisting the thigh, you can harm your knee. Be sure to practice this slowly until your leg becomes flexible to do it smoothly and effortlessly.
Then, immediately followed by Jodan yoko keage that is aimed at the opponent chin, neck or face.
Another key point is that there must not be any pause between the first and the second kicks. These two kicks must be executed as though they were one technique.
