Yeah, taking out O-Ren was the smart decision because not only was she the easiest to find, her partner was also connected to Bill, but most importantly, O-Ren was NOT someone you wanted to go after when she already had the heads up. With the unrusted, high skill, and personal army, O-Ren would be the hardest feat, physically at least, and the last thing The Bride would need is allowing O-Ren time to prepare for her, like she gave everyone else. Even without the time prep, we saw O-Ren never let her guard as she sensed trouble at the door. Not to mention, the strong message it sends to everyone else. if she can take down O-Ren, a top assassin turned THE powerful big yakuza boss, then anyone can get touched. Knocking O-Ren's ass out of the way first was a very strategic move...

The studio was Harvey Weinstein's. He butchered a lot of movies they released with his own cutting. In the case of Tarantino's movies, he let him do what he wanted when actually Kill Bill would have been better with some scenes cut like the swordmaker scene which slowed this movie to a grind and in Part 2 when she meets another dude at a bar that was also pointless.

I'm not a foot fetishist by a long shot. I could care less if my women even have feet! Well I mean except for the fact that I enjoy nature hikes. Point is, they're utilitarian to me. BUT I don't see why people get so weirded out by guys with foot fetishes. Seems pretty harmless and innocent to me. What's so wrong with being particularly fixated on that part of a woman's anatomy? Besides which, you know who else has a obsessive fixation on women's feet? MOST WOMEN! So many women go to such elaborate lengths to adorn, costume and pedicure their feet. But then some guy comes along and appreciates the effort, and somehow he's some weird freak? I honestly don't get it. Someone explain this to me.

This movie was never intended to be a complete movie, it's just that the movie that Tarantino wanted to make was way too long. It should, therefore, really not be judged on its own, judge the two movies as one when you've finished it. Incidentally, I saw Volume 2 first, not realising it was the second half. I don't think it diminished my enjoyment of either one.
@SeymourAlexander

Yep. It was shot as just one movie but it was too long for theater release so it was cut into two movies. That is why it's called vol 1 and vol 2. It's not a separate sequel but a continuation of the story that was supposed to be one movie.

I know a lot of people noticed the similarities, but the obvious truth here is that Quentin is just a little unoriginal, not that he was deliberately making a Fox Force Five movie. It helps to not think of Volume 2 as a "sequel"; this was originally supposed to just be one movie, but Tarantino couldn't edit it down to a sane length for a single film, there was too much that he couldn't cut, so he split it into two. That's why the first one is Volume 1, whereas 99.99% of all first movies in series have no number, like the first Avengers movie wasn't Avengers 1. Also, the second volume doesn't have a subtitles, and nearly every sequel these days has a subtitle.
