So my reason for liking Kimbly, Is that hes the rare example of an internally consistent villain. In my opinion I don't think his actions violate his motivational compass...

Same with greed. I'd say these two were true to the end. Greed being the anti-hero and kimbly being the perfect catalyst for the faults of the protagonists excluding Alphonse and Edward. It's why he respected them above the others. Kimblee is an honest psychopath and admits as much. He pushes and breaks down the others. Deconstructing their image for us to see. He puts everything into perspective. Honestly the perfect side villain

Kimble loves personal philosophy, he understands his own and tries to understand others and hates those who go against their own philosophy (eg at bottom) he respects the elrocs for their staying true to their philosophy throughout the show but still tries to kill them in accordance to his. He stops pride from killing Edward after pride throws away his pride of being superior to humans

Kimblee is the one character who stay true to his ideals even after death. To point out the hipocrisy the others characters do, he did it with Edward in Briggs, he did with Al in the battle against Pride and he even did it with Pride after he was beaten by Edward

See to me that doesn't make much sense. Most people are generally consistent as are most villains. So that doesn't really strike me as meaning anything. Unless I am misunderstanding what you mean.

@@trueblue6201 Ah, I can clarify, I am terribly sorry if I happen to ramble a bit. Behavior, (external) consistency, and philosophy, internal consistency are slightly different, and the fine distinction is worth noting. Often times, hypocrisy is a popular character flaw for villains, or even antagonists... but there is more to being internally consistent than just that. An internally consistent character, must have actions that adhere to their own philosophy... For example... Pride failed to be internally consistent when he tried to take Ed's body in FMA Brotherhood... Lex Luthor is not internally consistent... his goals, and his actions, are often masked as something beyond simple power-lust. He acts in a somewhat consistent manner- but his minds An Internally consistent character has little need to lie. (at least from their perspective.) That is not to say that a villain that is not consistent internally is a bad one though.

Sociopath? or he’s just psychotic. A psychopath doesn’t take “pride in their killings”

He's not wrong. What do you think the military trains people to do? And do think the country you serve is always gonna be in the right? Joining the military is basically selling your soul.

soldiers are supposed to protect the people, not killing the right people, by shooting attackers and ending catastrphic criminal cases, they are supposed to be the shield of a country, be real heroes when no one else does the hard job "the army exist for the benefit of the people of the nation" unless mostly, they attack somewhere, a war, because it is supposed that a good soldier follows orders, then it gets dirty depending on the high commands, if they commder is evil or plays dirty to win then he orders things like killing civilians, "the case of soldier following orders happens" and the soldiers can commit crimes a good soldier should be proud (or more of a decent accomplishment )of shooting because he is doing the right thing, as obsene as it is, while a wrong case of soldier follows orders , while none of it is right . even then kimblee is right, the skills are good, but depends on what he uses them even then i know being a soldier consist of doing both things most time because the concept of being a soldier also covers the aspect of being the most efficient and useful unity that follows commands, i still belive a real soldier can be a hero , a real warrior, a real fighter when you fight for the right things (but i reciently met a character, who won big battles, but never liked or like shooting, and that whishes war is over and soldiers too, but doesn't see it possible for long, even then he wants the longest period of peace, a couple decades of peace , and that is a better goal)

That would be the case if the other side doesnt see you as the attackers, as the offenders, as the ones they need to fight to protect what they love

Prepare for cringe. Victory. Defeat. These mean nothing to war. The exchange of hatreds onto another's physical and spiritual being is the only thing that matters. The reasons for hate and the outcome of conflict are secondary. Not every soldier is a warrior. A lot are but their main purpose is to follow orders in the interest of his people. If the interest of his people is to relieve disaster or to cause tragedy he will do as commanded. An acolyte of war seeks to crush those stronger than him and to make those weaker than him strong enough to one day kill him, he cares not as to where and who such death happens to as long as it is earned.

It doesn't matter whether the soldiers are good, when their leaders are twisted. Don't they say that the shit rolls downhill?
@marcusdaloia29742 жыл бұрын
True only by a long chain of proxies that can easily be broken. Soldiers are made to kill for a governing body that was made to serve the people and, thus, should minimize the degree to which soldiers should kill but since people are pathetic at keeping their government in its place soldiers lost that conditional; they're like a cell without any inhibition; tumorous.
