Love my Glass Hammers. As long as i get them into the enemy they will do what destroyers do best, so i find them great in hypercrypt, or in matches on tables with a lot of terrain to hide them behind. Also, they look amazing.

I've discovered reserves really helps their survival. As a bonus they (always)get a 9" charge against their ideal target. A squad with a Lord showing up on the 3rd turn has been a regular"tik" in my opponents face. Just failed the charge and they had several other more important targets by then and much lower firepower..

i run 3 skorpekh lords with 2 units of 6 and one unit of 3 in annihilation legion with 18 scarabs. and 3 units of flayed ones and some other 6 lokust destroyer and 6 more heavy destroyers.......this list wrecks everything that i put in front of it if i need to screen out in front of me i yeet the scarabs up and tie up everything or move block everything if they have mad deepstrike i can liter half the board in scarabs and my destroyers. if they go first sure they probably muck my flayed ones but it set them up for a charge from the skorpekh. this detachment gets a bad rep, since the canoptek court nerf this has become my new favourite detachement. If you havent tried it i think you should , you will be surprised how much fun it is.

Honestly with the increase in points to the wraiths and technomancer I feel the skorpekh are Honestly giving them a little competition 260 points 6 skorpekhs + lord 335 points 6 wraiths + technomancer They are doing different roles as wraiths are much more tanky and skorpekhs are heavier damage

I freaking love taking Skorpekhs in the Hypercrypt Legion. They've won me so many games after I throw them into an opponent's deployment zone with the Monolith's Eternity Gate then use Dimensional Corridor to charge and snag an easy Capture Enemy Outpost. I always take Skorpekh Lord in case I fight an army like Astra Militarum which has a tendency of turning their deployment zone into a parking lot and the Lethal Hits melts them like butter.

They definitely scare the opponent when they are on the table. Keeping them safe until they can successfully charge in is important I’ve found. The defensive profile is pretty week to focussed shooting at them. Crimson harvest is glorious with the lord if you can roll a 6 for D3+3 mortals on the charge! Really fun unit.

I tried 2 units of 3 in my canoptek court list. Useful to protect the back field and do some secondary. And 3 of the are still dangerous but don't take too much agro.

Skorpekh Destroyers are my favourite Necrons unit, so I am thrilled they feel strong now. However, I really wish you would have considered a unit of 3 Skorpekhs+Lord. The full unit can be hard to hide and move around the table, but I feel this smaller unit with a Lord has some real play.

Everything you say is true but the issue with Skorpekh destroyers is how vulnberable they are to many of the D3 weapons out there.

i have been annoying friends by sticking my skorpehks and their lord in a night scythe. this tactic is only made worse for them now that night scythes have deep strike

Big combo I think was missed is the 1xp crit 5s in Obeisance phalanx. Rest of the detachment dosent help em but crit 5s full rr to hit is already nutty on lokhusts. Curious to try it out myself

I know you definitely lose out on sheer number of attacks but running 3 skorpek + Lord is only 170 points, double up on that and you have two small trade pieces that can definitely put the hurt on units in the mid board.

Best use for the Skorpekh lord is solo with the 4+fnp enhancement from awakened dynasty.

I feel like if you can stretch the points that works best on a Catacomb Command Barge. Considerably tougher already with T8 and the -1 to wound on most anti-tank weapons (S9+) so with the 4+ FNP you're approaching C'tan levels of durability for half the price. And while not quite as dangerous in melee as the Skorpekh lord it still packs a punch and has an alright ranged attack as well. Skorpekh Lord is definitely a great option for taking it still though.

@@sm901ftw the CCB offense is weaker and you can’t revive the CCB with the stratagem. Reviving the Lord makes it way better defensively compared to the CCB and even a Ctan if played right. This is because it can tank an entire phase of damage and still be alive. You can have it get literally be charged and completely overkilled by something that would easily oneshot the CCB or a Ctan and be alive at the end of the phase. There is no other army in the game that can do this.

@@Lothrean True, but you can't count on always having that spare CP or not having a better character to use the stratagem on. A buffed Skorpekh Lord's usually a good choice, but if it's between him and Szeras then he's probably staying dead. Plus your opponent may end up scoring secondaries for destroying the Lord where a CCB could have survived. And of course, can't discount the buffs the base CCB provides. The extra OC and Res Orb can occasionally come in clutch but it needs to be in the thick of it to work, which is a lot safer with the enhancement. Especially since unlike the SL it has no bodyguard.

I love my Skorpekks + Lord in Hypercrypt with the Monolith. If you go 2nd on the 1st turn, you can Hyperfase the Monolith next to an opponents important minion, bring the Skorpeks to the Monolith, spend 2CP to let them charge and take out just about anything on the board. I took out a Nightringer, a Mortarion and a Aggron in Alpha strikes.

I would rather have 2 Skorpek lords than 1 with 3 Skorpek destroyers. In awakened dynasty, the 15 point 4+ fnp turns him into a mini illuminor Szeras with better damage output. Hypercrypt tricks with monolith is cool but requires 2 cp and both units to be on the battlefield.

I would save the Monolith trick for Lychguard. Footslogging with Warscythes can be a nightmare if your opponent decides to play keepaway, and given how competitive Hypercrypt Stratagems are having an Overlord to reduce the cost makes the trick feel a lot more viable.
