Catachan devils vs Sneaky tyranids rumble in the jungle box… literally the perfect product imho Revives one of the worst sculpts still sold, finally gives the nids some love, adds some non generic circle tree flora to the game, and best of all... plenty of predator/alien references to throw around 😂

I wish for a game, that has a ruleset which stays the way it is. Something you buy in and can play forever… some minor tweaks for balancing to make it better every now and then and that’s it. Put in new teams every season, but let the game stay the same. I hate to have to buy a new rulebook every couple of months and I hate painting models I won’t play with because they get nerfed so go can sell new models better. People buy new models anyway. Stop changing the core game. It’s the reason I sold all my 12k pts Orks and marines. I would love to come back, but not until the game rules are set, like with blood bowl.

I miss the 6 year edition cycles where the new editions were just tweaks to the core game. Still, I have hope the new edition will be a minor tweak of the rule set, even if the release schedule is far too rapid!

You're definitely looking for Battletech/BT Alpha Strike (The Skirmish mode) Rules have barely changed from their first iterations decades ago.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mandrakes Kill Team done the same way as Striking Scorpions. SS you can mix with some elite Aspects, so Mandrakes could be mixed with Incubi or other elites.

I agree wholeheartedly with the statement “double dipping isn’t a problem” as long as every faction has its bases cover, unfortunately it’s likely that GW won’t cover everything since some of factions need range refresh and it doesn’t warrant making a brand new upgrade sprue while having models made in previous editions

GW has already made it abundantly clear they will double dip before covering everyone. We have 3 Space Marine teams, several teams that are basically guards, etc.

Will there ever be a new real Tyranid kill team? Lorewise a small group of Tyranids going on a Mission dosn't make sense right? That's the reason they might stick to the genestealers. (Even if most players wouldn't mind)

Lore wise there are a lot of tyranid infiltrator organisms seeding the way for a tyranid invasion, often operating on a planet many many light years away from the rest of the fleet. Things like Lictors, and now nuero-lictors and the Von Ryan's Leapers make a lot of sense for a team like this. Genestealers as well!

Simplification absolutely wrecked Warcry. It went from a game that was easy to pick up but had real depth and subtly to a dull dice fest where nothing matters. Let's hope that whatever they do they don't simplify the rules of Kill Team to the point it's just not worth playing any more. Stuff like non-reciprical shooting absolutely needs to stay for example. It's the stuff thatseperates the good players from the rest.

what I want to see is a way to play different space marine chapters. I know that I wont be able to use a bike for example for white scars but at least give me rules that boost movement or something

I don’t see it happening myself unless it’s a team which comes completely out of nowhere like the Imperial Navy Breachers. I guess we’ll find out soon enough !

I would like to see one box sets replace the WD teams. If you want to play the WD teams you need to buy multiple boxes.

I agree, I don't see it happening with the GW business model but it would make sense for a Kill Team "battle force" set for these more awkward to collect teams. We generally split teams into "compendium" and "bespoke" but the WD teams really are their own thing in that regard.

Considering their models are relatively new and don’t need a refresh yet have a small range, I can definitely see them getting a new Kill Team as either an upgrade sprue or a whole new kit. Given that the new Custodes codex is due out in a few months judging by their road map, if we don’t get a new team for them around then…we’ll be waiting quite a while.

Night Lords would be amazing!!! Just got through the trilogy myself and added myself to the fan base! I would also like to see some rules that would work for other "non chaos" traitor and renegade teams. But yes i agree that tyranids are due along with other compendium factions first.

Great video! 3 years are way too fast for editions, but if it's just a rules clean up I may actually look into it. I only play with a small group of friends so we won't do a huge edition change. I like the idea of a compendium of current bespokes and updates. If they drop the old compendium teams then they really need to make more teams of groups that don't have any bespoke. I am tired of human guard-like teams all the time.

Wonderful video! I for one would love to see a less convoluted Kill Team, with warcry I can teach anyone to play in 15 mins....Kill Team you have these verbose rules many with "Except on a Tuesday" caveats, my frustration grew exponentially after playing the very elegant "One Page Rules Firefight" I hope GW looks to that ruleset to clear up the muddy waters of the game.

Kill Team was always supposed to gateway new players into the main game. Specific subfaction teams aren't really a thing (death guard and thousand sons notwithstanding) which is to say that I believe the night lords rumor will be false. Teams that have more value to proper 40k seem much more likely. I could see them doing a new chaos cultist team, or a new genestealer cultist team, or both. As a side note on the current status of tyranids, I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing more new minis for them until next year. Oghram very likely tapped out everything they had in the pipeline.

That being said, there's no sensible entry point for Sons if you woke up one day and decided that you wanted to start your journey with the faction there. I guess you could buy a box of Tzaangors and run Oops All Birds, but realistically it's a bit expensive as a box of sorcerers and a box of Rubrics.

OMG, I buy a kill team box set, assemble it how GW recommend, paint it, then find out I can't use it because GW have rereleased the game and it's no longer a legal team so I buy the box set again, assemble another five guys in the new way so I now have ten dudes from which to form a legal team, paint them too and now I'm finally allowed to play GW are going to rewrite the game again an no doubt force me to buy more stuff. And they wonder why people hate them >.>

They already teased the new "Voting event" just like the one that came out with Leviathan box. Imo it's pretty much guaranteed that the next box will have tyranids and i don't care what Valarak says. Ot GW is full of idiots who make events that are completely unrelated to upcoming releases...
