Marvin John Heemeyer (October 28, 1951 - June 4, 2004) was an American automobile muffler repair shop owner who demolished numerous buildings with a modified bulldozer in Granby, Colorado in 2004.
Heemeyer had various grudges against Granby town officials, neighbors of his muffler shop, the local press, and various other citizens of Granby. Over about eighteen months, Heemeyer secretly armored a Komatsu D355A bulldozer with layers of steel and concrete.
On Friday, June 4, 2004, Heemeyer used the bulldozer to demolish the Granby town hall, the house of a former mayor, and several other buildings. No one else was injured or killed, in part due to timely evacuation orders.

This is a shockingly common behavior among people who are about to do something drastic. It might be god, it might be fate, it might just be the universe, but often people start looking to a higher power to stop. The irony is that, often, they don't actually need a higher power, they just need a Human being who cares about them. Unfortunately, it's usually the lack of such a person that pushes them towards drastic action in the first place.

You missed a very important part. His father’s death was not a contributing factor to his actions but part of the plan, as he’d sold everything off, given ALL the money to his dad, and after his dad died all the money was Willed to Marv’s brother and sister. This, legally speaking made the money untouchable and exempt for any prosecution or liability. He and his father had a plan.

Goodbye detective ridiculous, you were the only videos I could get my gf to watch with me on this channel because she doesn't give a FUCK about warhammer. You will be missed

Have the climax of the movie be him welding himself inside the Dozer, then while the credits are rolling show images and play footage of the rampage itself

Honestly, I can see his girlfriend and dad as being his rock and reason to keep on going, some minor voice of reason on keeping that hyper-focus voice of chaos shoved into the back corner of his mind. Then the stress of no partner, and the soul crushing event of losing a parent, just leaves the door wiiiide open to a destructive "fuk it!, I can't take it anymore!"

I can completely understand his girlfriend chain smoking if she has to live with someone as unreasonable as Marv.

@@wanderingmercurymarauder761true that. He sounds like a really unpleasent person. And if I had a partner that started going on about how god wants him to destroy a city with a bulldozer, I'd probably want to get away from them as well
