Good tips JL, i started making passive incomes online about 1 year ago by selling assets and other things and i recommend to other artists to do the same because it changes your view on making money in general.

Another idea too, if you are not too shy in front of a camera is streaming yourself work on Twitch.

Whats good JL Mussi, i'm currently working on taking freelancing as a 3d artist/designer seriously. I've even set up a Facebook page as a business which is something i would like to grow into. Any advice on that path ? I feel as though those who are graphic designers are more trained in that compared to me or 3d artists. Correct me if im wrong. I'm just noting that from what ive seen so far I'm learning everything i can about branding, marketing, identity strategy and over all the ins and outs of the business of being a creative.

Hey JL, do I always need a VIP paid subscription to be able to sell my stuff on IMVU? Second Life seems like a better choice for someone that's just starting selling assets since it only requires one credit card transaction.

IMVU creator here. Yes, you need to be subscribed to IMVU to keep your catalog public. At one time, many years ago all you needed to sell items was to have bought your name. Now it is not like that.

Ok well, that's disapointing... might consider it in the future when I'll have more content created.

@@JohnSmith-wk4xy There are some benefits to being a VIP. You get 5k credits every month which go up the more loyal you remain. So, technically you'll never need to buy credits if you use those credits to create products. If you do need to buy credits, only buy them when they are 45% off. They have sales all the time. Once your catalog is more established and you're making some credits, people who pay in Promo-Credits will earn you Dev Tokens. Each token is worth 10 credits and can be used to reduce the cost of the Submission fee for new products. The submission fee is the biggest fee you must pay when submitting your product. If you reduce this, you increase your profits. The biggest thing to save credits is don't go on a spending spree in the catalog. Save every credit you make towards your own products. Make each product with high quality to maximize it's selling potential. Items with animations sell the most. Character items are the next higher selling. Room items with no animations are the least to sell. Technically, if you pay 500 credit submission fee + 350 derivation fee + 55 credit mark up fee = 905 credits you pay for that product. If you set your profit value at 200 credits for that item, you will need to sell that item ~5 times to break even. So make a product people will be hungry for and is easy to derive. The most important thing is to have fun. At the end of the day, don't worry so much about the money and just see IMVU as a creative playground for you to express your creativity freely. IMVU is slow money, so focus more on just getting better at 3D modeling, texturing, and animation. The experience is worth more than the money.

The constant flip from a long shot to a medium shot is annoying to an observant person. Lol.
