Someone saw a woman being forced into a vehicle against her will, screaming, and the guy starting screaming threats at the witness, but they didn't think to call the cops for another few days? If you see something, say something, people. Screaming and threats and strange cars merit an immediate call to the police.

A guy blocked my exit on a hiking trail with his vehicle, & sat there 6 minutes staring at me, waiting for me to get out & ask him to move. Then, he flipped me off, drove by really slow, sped up & turned around quick & pulled up next to my vehicle as I tried to leave, & was trying to talk to me. I called the cops, & they didn't do anything at all. Nothing, didn't even take his plate that I got. Cops don't do anything, until AFTER something happens.

When I was a teenager my friends and I witnessed the same thing happened. We were parked and eating our food from a popular place thats opened very late. We saw a girl getting snatched by two guys, getting shoved in the car while screaming her lungs out. We immediately called 911 and gave the operator the description of the car, color, license plate and locations. We tailed right behind them speeding heavily until they took a very sharp turn and went down another block. I'm not sure of the outcome of what happened that night, but I hope she's ok.

Yhea but unfortunately the cops often care far less about prostitutes than other women. It use to be much worse but is still a thing. I mean in a case like this it's not going to make any difference as once they've caught the guy they'll prosecute the same either way but it still often makes a difference in terms of how hard they investigate such crimes, especially if a killer only ever targets prostitutes. They're far more likely to brush it off and give excuses rather than actually investing it. Really sad.

I'm an ER doctor. You might be surprised at how often paramedics or other medical professionals either think someone is dead when they aren't or don't notice that the patient died / stopped breathing while standing right next to them. There are various errors that contribute to this, but the two most common is a phenomena known as "anchoring bias" and "confirmation bias". Anchoring bias is a tendency to rely heavily on the first piece of information you hear. Confirmation bias is the tendency to see new information as consistent with and supportive of what you already believe to be true. It works like this. Someone is severely injured or is near death from a medical condition. A bystander calls 911 and says "I found a dead body" or "there was a motorcycle accident... ughhh... this guy is dead." The information is relayed to emergency services, who then expect to see a dead person. When they arrive, they look at the victim. Maybe he is covered in blood or has grievous injuries or appears not to be breathing. There might be some subtle signs that the victim is not dead, but these are overlooked (if he is dead, why is he still bleeding) or discounted (did I just feel a very weak pulse there? No, I think that was just my own pulse). It is very important to follow your usual procedures and to make your own independent assessments every single time. Have you ever noticed that when at doctor's office or ER, you get asked the same questions 4 times by 4 different people? Many patients see this as a sign of disorganization and get frustrated by it. The fact of the matter is that I do know what the secretary / nurse / referring physician says is going on, but I'm asking you anyway for a specific reason. Oh, and wear a seatbelt / helmet!

Well humph! I don’t like missing persons cases. The lack of closure is the worst thing in my opinion. Many years ago my daughter went missing. Her boyfriend had taken her out to an isolated house and left her there with no phone, money, or a vehicle. It was two months with no word. And the police were no help because I didn’t have an address. I was beside myself with worry. I can’t imagine how it must have felt for Cindy’s family with the language barrier. As usual, well done Mike . I’m always looking forward to more! Thanks!

Oh wow! Your poor daughter hope she and all of you recovered well. Did any charges get pressed? Its incredible how many times you hear about the police not being helpful I really don't know how families like Cindy's cope 😢 I have a teenage daughter can't bear the thought of her being hurt or taken as I'm sure all parents feel the same. Dude. Local coverage was MORE than extensive. The issue with newer coverage is the age of the case, I think. At least two international television shows have done parts of the case. There’s an episode of Prison Breaks, and one of a show called Pandora’s Box, if I recall correctly.

Finally! Mike is covering a killer who was burying his secrets just a few miles from my house... Florida is still the bizarre crime capital of the United States, but I moved to Luzerne County to attend King's College, and I'm still here! It's a beautiful area with mountains and the mighty Susquehanna River runs throughout the valleys from Wilkes-Barre to Shickshinny and twisting through the countryside... This area is cluttered with abandoned mine shafts and the anthracite coal underground made some white men very wealthy. My grandfather was one of the Welshmen who came all the way to America in search of a better life and then he lost several toes and contracted black lung disease by chipping away underground and making money for the big coal companies. My mother was born in Luzerne County (in Courtdale) and her mother was born on the first of July, 1905. My grandmother's sister lived on Courtdale Avenue in Courtdale PA for 102 years and we had a party at the church across from her house when she turned 100... Complete with a little parade up Courtdale Avenue from the car wash to the end of the block where the old church still opens its doors every Sunday. I opened a business in the area after graduate school near Scranton and donned a pink furry bunny suit and led the parade because my great aunt Eleanor was born shortly before Easter Sunday. Hugo is infamous around here, and give me a shout when you get back across the pond and I'll show you around! There's a lot of history in this little corner of the universe, and I will be your tour guide and storyteller! I'm currently learning to speak Welsh and I have visited England and Scotland, but not had the pleasure of glimpsing the Emerald Isle. I have been listening to you for years and just wanted to say hello, and thank you... I love you right back! Until next time, take care of yourself and your family, dear friend. 🕊️ 💕 🌈 Lorie Paix

Thanks Mike for covering Cindy Song! I lived in State College for 25 years, during the time Cindy disappeared. Her poor Korean family had to come over here and never learned what happened. It’s terrible that they never found her killer definitively. It was Halloween weekend when it happened, she went home and than left according to the paper. There was a Giant supermarket across the street from where she lived, but it was cold that night, sad all around.
