I love kiln openings! I always feel like a kid on Christmas morning to me no matter how many kilns I have fired. These are recorded during my live broadcast on the ClayShare facebook page. If you want to be part of fun be sure to follow me there and then you can watch live and ask me questions about glazing and firing!
I make many of my own glazes but also use commercial glazes. Here I am using Clayscapes Pottery Glazes, AMACO Glazes, Georgies Glazes and Speed Ball underglaze

You are a great teacher. Artists are so fortunate to have so many resources at their fingertips today. I am a retired elderly potter. I never would have stopped potting if my body hadn't thrown me a couple of curve balls about 3 years ago. Many of the glazes you showed today are some I have used in the past. Keep up your good work and sharing of enthusiasm. I know it benefits many people. Thanks.

Your glazing is the best👌 I know you fire to cone 5... using laguna b-mix without grog. I am in the process of purchasing my very first kiln and have learned so much from your videos. Can you tell me a little about your firing program...hold time etc? I believe this makes a difference in your glaze results. Any little tidbits of advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am so glad you found me. I do have full length classes showing how I carve my mugs on tv.clayshare.com Each mug takes 2-3 hours to carve then another hour to do the hand coloring so it is quite labour intensive. Check out my classes for a more simplified version. :)

Awesome! Love the artwork! Could the different number of pieces at the different levels (top/bottom) make a difference in the temperature? Possible the pieces "hold" heat so two pieces at the bottom=less heat vs. top layer lots of mugs=more heat. I know nothing about kilns...

Firing on grog is a great way to allow large flat bottomed items to move during firing so that they don't crack. :)

I would give anything to work with you for 2 or 3 days. I am very sick Kingdom with an autoimmune condition that ended my career in the biomedical. I had a very very satisfying career and I found myself stuck at home in the depression set in because when you're not productive it is the worst thing that can happen to a human being. So I was really good with I'm a wheel like in high school. My instructor put my pots all over the school it was really embarrassing at the time but it's bothered me my whole life that I didn't pick it up again. So I picked it up after I got sick and my health stabilized a little bit and it all came right back to me. I can make just about anything I can imagine on the wheel I have to refine some of my techniques like I'm having a little trouble with handles but they're getting pretty good now. I need to know some of the finer techniques to get perfect beautiful everything!. But I really would I would give anything I pay anything because you're one of the most imaginative people that I've seen make videos. Jon from Jon the Potter is good too but I think you're a little bit more refined. I want to learn glazes so badly. I have some chemistry background so that will help is a matter of fact I've already made you factured a bunch of my own oxides in carbonate from metal halide that had laying around from different projects I've had in the past. I developed an organic biodegradable bioplastic a couple years ago out of boredom. You're awesome and I love your videos

Jess, holy cow, I couldn't afford any of your pots! I realize that you need so much money per hour, but if you do not sell them what good does it do you? I could probably afford a quarter of the cost, and you would probably sell more of them to make up the loss of revenue. I realize it takes your time, but I would rather get my work out there and sell to more people. Just saying.
