My yellow Corvette had production fiberglass leaf springs that were re-positioned and made to be adjustable, Bill's white Corvette had pretty cool adjustable coil springs and coil over shocks . I retained the production leaf springs because they added some roll stiffness with no weight penalty, not to mention no cost.

Interesting. I didn't realize you had that kind of freedom to modify the cars. Were the cars in Corvette Challenge events more tightly controlled? Also, it looks you guys were running earlier C4 16" front wheels in this race. As I recall, those pumped air across the brakes. Is that why you used them?

@@Michael_Lorenson 88/89 Corvette Challenge were almost stock spec Corvettes with safety equipment. The later World challenge Vettes , were allowed some engine mods, some suspension mods , cooling ducts and systems, etc.. For wheels , usually ran 17x9.5 magnesium Dymags with cooling fans to draw air through. Also had twin 4 inch brake ducts. I used experimental Delco three piston brakes , effective although quite heavy

Wow, thank you for posting this, it was a pleasure to watch. Your car looks clearly more "on the ground" than Cooper's car. Incredible chase. I imagine the adrenaline of waiting for the right opportunity to overtake and also the guy trying to not loose the race. Well done!

lotus, porsche, bmw, ....Corvette mighty C4 absolutely dominated everything and made it quasi unfair for all other competitors. most impressive and excellent racing heritage. truly a testament to the excellent C4. iconic American high performance sportscar.

Great race. Absolutely love my Corvette C7 Grand Sport with its Manual Transmission. Such enjoyable cars.

So Kim, you're saying you just blindly changed a fuse while racing or it was loose and you pushed it back in??

During yellow flag very lucky, Fuse to fuel pump blew. I pulled a random fuse I could reach (turned out it was for radio) and plugged it in place of blown fuel pump fuse and fired back up and drove away. Made sure that never happened again, Every race car I had after was equipped with labeled push button circuit breakers in reach of drivers hands

I wonder what differences there were in suspension set up between the 2 cars. K. Baker's car looks lower and shows better overall body control
