As someone who has been adamant on not getting pregnant since i was a kid (20 now) i dont mind the perfumes possibly causing fertility issues, its obviously not true and likely over sensationalized, but i dont mind lol.

Rhode has had a few new launches this year they launched a barrier balm, minis of their skincare, they launched their blushes, as well as limited edition/color lip products as they have in the past year. They will be launching lip liners coming up. With the baby that could potentially allow a launch of a baby branch, diaper cream, nipple balm. Her slower launches making sure a product is well received and taking feedback to improve the product/packaging and what her audience wants is building her a solid base. Her marketing team is doing a good job as well. As a target audience for SKKN I would never buy the brand it’s overpriced drugstore with a luxury price point. Not to mention her “refills” aren’t environmentally helpful at all. Rhode has actually impressed me with their environmentally consciousness. I do expect to see refills from Rhode soon.

Please don’t forget to include the folks that are infertile due to genetic factors, medical conditions that dictate getting pregnant is a much bigger health risk for both parent and/or child, malnutrition, being underweight, and medical procedures that went wrong. Enough of any chemical can harm you, people have died from water intoxication. Hazard times exposure equals risk. What is important is establishing the exposure threshold for adverse effects, then ensuring that total exposure for any given person to the material remains below the risky level (typically with a big safety margin - 10x or 100x is typical). This is why universities, government agencies and all sorts of companies train and employ toxicologists, to understand the hazards and risks of chemicals to prevent risks to the public as far as humanly possible. It's not a failsafe system, but it is highly regulated for the public's protection.

I, personally, buy fragrance free products most of the time. But for me, it isn’t about the ingredients surrounding the scent, but the fragrance ingredients themselves. I am highly allergic to most products that contain fragrance due to a host of allergies to the most popular fragrant oils and plants. Most companies that I try to reach out to see if I could potentially use their products refuse to confirm or deny where specific fragrant ingredients are in their products. I reach out simply listing the fragrances that I am allergic to and ask if they could tell me whether specific products that I am interested in trying (not all of their products, but either one line or two products) contain those allergens. Though I am not asking for a list of what all fragrances are in them, they, sadly, refuse to say yes or no. It would be less frustrating if they simply never responded to my question, but I get a reply that is unpleasant and unnecessary. So, I go back to the fragrance free products or brands that don’t mind disclosing if certain ingredients are in certain products that they sell. It is what it is and I try not to let it bog me down and not complain. More and more brands are starting to come out with products that are disclosed or fragrance free and make a pretty penny from the gal who appreciates and buys their products constantly. Of course, some brands will later have to discontinue an item that is not as popular and replace with more popular ones, getting rid of the product I can use for one that I cannot. It’s a big catch 22. Sorry for the rant.

11:06 I don’t know if this is an editing fluke or if something weird is just happening on my phone, but it sounds like the tiktok audio didn’t get deleted and it plays in the background for quite a while! May not be worth changing at this point, but thought I would mention it in case anybody else got confused!

11:03-11:31 has background noise from one of the clips you were showing and lasts way past when the actual clip is taken off-screen

The tiktok audio quietly playing to its end starting ~11:05 is a little distracting haha

1:23- GUYS!!! As a medical student rhat has a secere case of “i need to know why”. The rise in infertility is NOT CAUSED by phalates. It’s caused by estrogen mimicking chemicals. Things like plastic (both plastic with BPA and without). Long story short, ALL PLASTIC, is made with a chemical that mimics estrogen causing 2 things: Girls to get their period early, and causing male infertility. Women arnt the ones with feetility issues, its men. Thank you. :) Edit: also for ppl who are not thinking “oh now i’m going to completly stop using plastic”. No. You cant in this world. Plastic is so convenient thats its EVERYWHERE. Microplastic is in most of our air and is even in ground water. We are doomed in that aspect. The only way we can stop plastic killing us all is if MEGA COMPANIES stop producing it and we ALL shift to cardboard (which we dont wanna do cause all our food will spoil faster and we will have to convert to primotive ways of food gathering).

Cardboard? What happened to glass and aluminum?

And excess adipose tissue secreting hormones has no effect? Estrogen mimicking chemicals are an issue, but it’s comical to state that’s the sole reason when obesity rates have increased so dramatically.

I just wanted to say that I turned on the subtitles (I speak French) and at 2:12, the subtitles say: "very single possible possibility of phallic exposure" 🙃

My mom has chemical allergies due to overexposure to chemicals. It gets worse over time because it's a cumulative thing. So I can see how other things can be cumulative as well. I hate when people mock things that they don't understand. I say this because people mock my mom all the time for her allergies and call them made up.

i think these companies need to start being held accountable… for all the health risks and damages they cause for their own profit.

Crazy because I forgot all about Skkn, forgot it existed, and I've never seen it in stores. It feels like other brands jacked the aesthetic and did it better- Refy comes to mind immediately

Wow almost had a heart attack when you suddenly were accompanied by the female voice from one of the clips you featured around 11:15 . I guess you did mean to mute that one didn't you?🙈

Some perfume can make you fat. Wearing a true gourmand will make you want to eat. I don't even have a sweet tooth, but smelling dessert all day makes me hungry.

That think with phalates resembles Joke's crime from Burton's first film. When he put poisons into different cosmetic products and only when you use them together people could die

There’s a weird under audio of a girl talking in the Elle Fanning - Balmain section it was so crazy I kept pausing the video in case something else was playing around me! 🤦🏼♀️🤣 Also someone asked for a deep dive on EWG…. Yes please! As long as they don’t come after you!

I love you so much but this is not where it's at... what you say makes 0 sense. There is no way possible for these companies to know how much we are coming into contact with daily. I've been avoiding fragrance for years though and I'm definitely in better health now. I use some chemical skincare stuff but it's all fragrance free.

For these types of conversations, I wish a chemist was brought in to add even a snippet of teaching about phthalates. Scientists have been studying them for well over 20 years and their harms well understood.
