You guys! I knew I would love Casa Kimberly, but I wasn't prepared for how much I loved it. It is a truly special place and it made our stay in Puerto Vallarta that much more special. Oh, and the tequila! 🥂

I lived at Casa K off and on after Elizabeth sold it to my friend Toy. The guest house wasn’t even there when they were filming the movie, they rented a much smaller version of the villa, then bought it. They added on the bar wing, the rear bedrooms and finally bought the lot across the street and built the guest house mostly to have a pool. They never lived in separate homes. The bridge was added because it was too difficult to add a tunnel and then Mrs Burton dijdnt want to take the children out in the street to go swimming. Tourists and yes paparazzi were present, so she’d wrap a serape over her head and dash across passing for a maid. I wish more people knew the truth because it is just as interesting and romantic as these stories. The house was a very simple Mexican style home, not the opulent hotel it is now.

Wow, lots of misinformation sorry. They lived there throughout both marriages and she kept Casa K until around 1990. That’s when she finally moved on after he’d died. He did marry another woman and build Casa Bursue nearby.
