Nick doesn't understand that Ultron is a pompous egotistical being who feels like he can't fail. He's Tony Stark if Tony had never developed a conscience. So the reason he didn't have a contingency plan and send a robot to your dumb starbucks is because Ultron believed he didn't need a contingency plan.

Nick's issue with Ultron not having at least one robot take off and hide or whatever is addressed in the movie. It was Rhodey's job to contain any stragglers during the battle, no?

Scott S. But that was the problem with the series at the beginning. It was piggybacking off the movies and shoehorning in references instead trying to do its own thing and be a show. It got better as it went on cause it wasn’t tied down by the films or trying hard to be “connected”.

Expectations, as well. Many people, when it came out, had this bar set, where if it didn’t surpass the original it would be considered a failure and disappointment. As the trailers kept coming, fans and movie-goers were being sold a different kind of movie, which didn’t help. Now that they have seen it, many realize it’s better than how they remember it being. There’s still flaws in the movie though, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a very solid film with a severely underrated villain.

Absolutely. The show consistently gets better. So far Season 5, the season we have now is amazing, but Season 4 so far is the best season. Season 4 has the best way to use a 20+ episode season. It's got 3 pods with a distinct story. Ghost Rider, LMD and Agents of HYDRA with the last 2 episodes wrapping it ALL up. I love the show and wish that people won't sleep on it because of season 1.
@AlexLove6316 жыл бұрын
I feel like people go too hard on this movie and act like it's one of the worst things for some reason. It's disappointing, sure, but there's plenty of good stuff. This is Hawkeye's movie and he's great in it. And the party scene is amazing. Seeing all of them hang out, drinking, fucking attempting to lift Thor's hammer was everything. That said, I think the Russo's get Cap better than Joss does. Joss loves him as the boy scout (hence the lame "language" line). Buuuuut Cap telling Tony they'll lose together is 100% Cap as well so whatever.
@Ren_Davis05316 жыл бұрын
Alex Love Don’t forget the awesome “If you get hurt, hurt em back. If you get killed, walk it off.” That’s a great Cap line. I think Joss sees Cap as an icon that seeks to inspire people even though he may not always be right. I think the moment where he says “Ultron thinks that we’re what’s wrong with the world. This isn’t just about beating Ultron. It’s about whether or not he’s right.” A consistent theme in Whedon’s work is the idea of fighting the fight even when all is lost because the fight is worth fighting for, and that comes out a lot in Cap. It’s also why the Avengers are able to save everyone in Sokovia at the end because at the end of the day our heroes may not have the right answers all the time, but they come through for us when we need them. It really captures the essence of heroism.

Also regarding Quicksilver Joss Whedon did say that Quicksilver was always meant to die. Even in the first drafts of the script in 2013 he was always meant to die. It just so happen that Fox used the character as well in 2014 for Days of Future Past. Which is why I think everyone assumed the decision to kill Quicksilver was reactionary, even though it wasn't. Just thought I should mention that.

This is one of my favorites. I actually prefer this over the original Avengers. Loving the show guys, I look forward to this every Tuesday. Nick, the reason Ultron doesn't escape to another body before being defeated is because Vision shuts him out of whatever connection he uses, when they first meet. He grabs him by the face and kills that part of him.
@LoganFerguson6 жыл бұрын
Ultron is in every robot body. Vision burned him out of the internet, not out of his connections with his other minions. Otherwise... why didn't they all just drop the moment Vision did that. Quick fact: The Thanos scene supposedly happens right before Infinity War. Same for the Guardians movies. Space is weird...
@loganbigmo5 жыл бұрын
To explain the Hulk situation: Scarlet Witch not only gave Tony Stark the vision that put him on the path to Infinity War, but her actions with Banner is what caused Hulk to leave Earth. They never addressed in Ragnarok how exactly he got to Sakaar, but a production assistant did reveal that he flew the Quinjet into space & came across a wormhole which brought him to Sakaar. *Fun fact:* Joss Whedon had a scene where Hulk flew the Quinjet into space, but because they weren't sure if they'd commit to the Planet Hulk storyline, they didn't have that in the final cut. If they didn't go through with it, then keeping that scene would cause inconsistencies if they needed Hulk on Earth for the Avengers sequel. A year later, when they decided to go through with it, Kevin Feige called Joss Whedon to inform him that Hulk was going to space. As for Quicksilver, they shot additional scenes for him, too, including a scene where he survived. Whedon filmed both scenes as Marvel was on the fence in regards to killing him or not, but they chose to kill him.

i think Age of Ultro suffered what The Last Jedi sorta did last December... it had SOOOO much unrealistic expectations (some, solely can be blamed on its own "no strings on me" trailer) that when it did not meet all those expectations the fans just tend to TRASH DA FUCK outta this movie. they started to pick the shit apart...way apart.... in truth, though..once you let go of all the personal expectations and just go with Whedon's vision and storytelling...it ain't that bad a movie...as a matter of fact, it's a pretty damn good movie. the only gripe i still have with it...it should've had a little longer run time than the first Avengers movie. (i think it's ONE MINUTE SHORTER than The Avengers!!!) i think so far, it's my number 9 or 10 fave MCU movie.

Some hulk in the quinjet trivia. Joss whedon explains in the commentary he would have preferred having hulk in the quinjet start to point the ship up into outer space before cutting away from the scene, teasing a planet hulk arc (which eventually was told during Thor ragnarok) but Kevin feige disagreed wanting to keep hulk options more open as they move forward. I don't think Marvel was saying FU to Fox about Quicksilver. I believe Marvel couldn't get Fox to sell those characters back, but because of the limbo of their situation, the two sides agreed to more or less split the two. My point is that if you have issues with these villains then you're going to have issues with Thanos since, theoretically, there is no way that guy should lose to the Avengers. I could sit here and list countless times in comic book movies were the villain should have taken out the hero but I am way too lazy for that.

DarKAnGeL885 True but Ultron was lame as hell. Generally speaking, Marvel villains have been really bad with a couple of exceptions.

JEFFREY Huh? But I'm not talking about whether or not the Villain is good, I'm talking about the Villain's plan and the common tropes of comic book Villains. Whether or not a comic book Villain is good is another discussion entirely.
@jeffdaman69696 жыл бұрын
DarKAnGeL885 Blame the writers/director for not coming up with a clever way to beat these villains. I don’t even understand why villains have to be finished off in the first place. Normally they get defeated and go into hiding to lick their wounds until they decide to try something else. No only are most marvel villains lame but they are so lame we don’t even care about them.
@DarKAnGeL8856 жыл бұрын
JEFFREY I wouldn't say that's a marvel problem but more of a comic book Villain problem. Also, the issue with having them get defeated to fight another day is that you get people stating, well why doesn't the Hero put them down for good? The Joker has broken out of jail a hundred times already, even if Batman has a no killing rule, someone would have put him down by now. I've been reading comic books for years so this isn't a trope that really bothers me.

DarKAnGeL885 You keep mentioning comic book villain. Most villains in general are going to do something dumb so the hero can win. That’s basically every movie genre It has nothing to do with comics.

What Tony saw resembles a lot of the ending In Endgame, if Tony didn't sacrifice himself. With Cap's shield broken on the ground and Thano's ships invading Earth. A great foreshadow, in my opinion

TBH I'm glad Joss Whedon is no longer directing for marvel. His humor style gets old very quickly, and his direction is really bland compared to other recurring directors from the MCU

Kinda agree. Still like him tho, but I’m glad we got the Russos for IW. Whedon was already exhausted when making the movie, and had to deal with a lot of shit to get it done, even fight for a couple scenes in the movie. Feel sorry for the guy. He’s getting a lot of shit for things that we’re out of his control and mistakes he made, when he’s just human like us and not this god who can make your geek dreams and wishes come true. I’m grateful for his work in the MCU, and hope he can overcome the problems he’s facing or hate that comes his way.

I was saying this after I saw avengers. Not everybody needs to be quippy. Not everyone can deliver that..plus whedon himself isn't that funny.
