@@gainesy_walks Hi David, well done 3 nights, yes the space is amazing, it’s very light, a simple shelter a bit of a worry always finding a pitch as my Notch can occupy a very small space, I’m a fair weather camper and if I was out and the weather was bad I would camp very low or sleep in a bus shelter so just have to be careful with it but yea I can tell I’m going to love it. Hilarious, I bet you have a load of footage that you couldnt include! A great time was had by all, If I had have stopped I wouldnt have been drinking so its good I wasnt the party pooper! I wonder who renovated Four Jacks recently? The plaques werent there last time I visited. The original shelter was called Mikes church and was built by Micah Tym, then in 1930 four lads named Jack (one of them was Mike's son, Jack Tym) rebuilt it. I cant get my head around the old pictures of it and how it looks now - it appears to have changed both shape and size, but in that case where has the extra stone gone? I wonder if there was a lot of wood in the original?

Bee question Do you know have you found that honey from different bees has different viscosity at the same temperature I only buy real natural honey from known sources , no blended stuff I just wondered why some honeys at the same temperature seem to have different viscosity I'll watch the video now Thanks for posting I'll watch it on the TV
@DaveGoodman19592 ай бұрын
@@SarahOutdoors1957 hi Sarah, hey no problem, the viscosity depends on what the bees have foraged on. The nectar from every different type of flower will produce honey of a different viscosity. Sometimes the bees of foraged on a single variety and sometimes from lots of different varieties of flower. Beekeeping is very variable and say I took 3 boxes of honey from a hive over the summer each box producing say 15lb of honey well each box could be a different viscosity. Look how thick a heather honey can be, sometimes like jelly. So many variables. Kind regards 🙏😊
@SarahOutdoors19572 ай бұрын
Thank you for the explanation, I eat honey quite a lot recently, certainly some every day , I've been eating some from wye down in Kent and it's been very thick and quite a strong flavour , but I just opened a local honey from the south downs near where I live now and immediately noticed how runny it was by comparison and it's the same temperature, many thanks Dave

I just bought an alcohol stove ( stripey hat guy ) what do you find is the cleanest burning alcohol fuel
@DaveGoodman19592 ай бұрын
@@SarahOutdoors1957 Hi Sarah, yes I just received mine too👌I suppose the cleanest burning is bioethenol , I think there are only 2 types that and methylated spirit which is dyed purple. I only recently started using bioethonol , it does not burn as hot and takes almost twice as much fuel to boil water compared to methylated spirit. I have been told that the bioethenol performs better in the type of stove that came with the Stripey kit. And the methylated works better in the stove types with the double ring of holes as it requires heat to make it perform properly. I don’t mint the fume smell that comes of methylated spirit as I’m used to it working on bikes and cars etc. anyway what a load of woffle 🤣 Kind regards and I hope you enjoy the stove it’s certainly a massively cheaper than using gas 🙏❤️😊 So I’m still trying both as I’ve never used the Stripey type stove before.
