Argh Dave, no charger cable! I had a similar experience once. Didn’t set my phone to battery saver mode. Got an hour into a day walk and used up 60%! It’s an irritating experience, eking out your power and continually berating yourself. After that, I bought an ANKER power bank, carry 2 cables and check battery saver multiple times every day. No stress since then, even on long trails. You live and learn, eh? 👍
@DaveGoodman1959Ай бұрын
@@JustinWhiting9 hiya Justin, yes it would have been nice to do a bit more filming, hey ho. Merry Christmas to you all. 🎄🎅👍
@JustinWhiting9Ай бұрын
Have you optimised your phone settings, Dave? There will be a KZbin video specifically for your phone called “How to save/improve battery life” or similar. Usually 10 settings or so, plus screen less bright and dark mode, etc. Makes a big difference, especially on trail. All the best, and Happy Christmas 🎅 🎄
@DaveGoodman1959Ай бұрын
@ thanks Justin It’s an old pro max which has a bigger battery so even with filming can last 2 days, if on a longer remote trip and filming I leave it on airplane mode all the time unless I want to contact someone. So just forgot my charging cable this time. 🙏 Yes and sometimes optimise the settings.

Ah, I use iPhone 11. Which one is yours? I can see it has good resolution in low light around camp. I remember your night filming in the Cairngorms next to that old shack with your lamp. Much better than mine.

@DaveGoodman195922 күн бұрын
@@PaulJohnsonUK hi Paul and thanks for getting in touch. You do not need to book but being close to the road could be occupied especially Friday and Saturday nights. Going early can help but if the weather was very bad you need to be prepared to accept late comers late into the evening. You should take a tent too being prepared to go elsewhere although there is nowhere to pitch close by. For more information on bothies and bothy etiquette here is a link to the MBA.
