The Reservoir is really low. I looked over Errwood Reservoir from Foxlow Edge, it is really low this year. You know I'm so, so tempted to go up there this week but as I'm on The Ethel Challenge I want to leave this one for last. I hiked Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill from Hollins Clough. Parkhouse Hill was a very steep drop-off on the way down. Brilliant vlog Mary, really enjoyed this. Just started out my journey late in life but really enjoying The Peaks. The wind is bad when I try to record. Your mic certainly cut that down to zero wind noise. I think I may have to invest. Loving your vlogs. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! You had the place all to your self. I'm not going to lie, I did laugh at your night recordings. I do recommend ear plugs for light sleepers. On a side note, I just got back from a three night, four day, volunteer, trail maintenance, backpacking trip with the PCTA. Our team of eight logged out the trail starting at Chinook Pass heading south and exiting at White Pass. I just looked back at your PCT playlist and it's day 128 when you hit White Pass.

Thanks Albert, I hoped viewers would realise it was for a bit using sound effects and not recorded noises 😆 Yes I often wear ear plugs - but never when I'm on my own. I like to hear what's happening around me just in case. I made up for the sleep the next night! Oh what a great section to do some trail maintenance, good for you 👏

Kinder Scout is so beautiful, and you certainly picked "the" spot to camp. Don't you love wild camping, the sound of dissident sheep and winged night things? I'm sorry for such a dreadful night but Tinkerbell and the three sheep is what I picture. "there's someone in my bed! Heeeyyy!." And the effort to film and do walk-bys while not feeling your best. Thank you, Mary.

A nice, quality visit to Kinder Scout. Too bad about the air traffic. When I visited the Tetons this summer the Jackson airport was closed for renovations, so no planes. Yay! After watching, I had to cook up some lentils with curry and sip a little of Millie's Lemongrass sipping broth 😊

OMG. Everything about this video is absolutely beautiful. I love your Sunday morning videos, they seem to set the mood for quite awhile. Maybe the sheep were there as guardians (albeit very noisy ones)? Or like you thought you were probably too close for their comfort, either way they are gorgeous. I so appreciate traveling with you, you are a beautiful soul. The end photography was superb, still working on that book? 🥰🙏🏻

Your videos always have a way of being both calming and inspiring at the same time. And in this case, the overnight sounds segment had the added bonus of being really funny, as well. What an incredible place to camp! I imagine though, that you have to be careful to find a little hollow out of the direct wind, or it could be pretty rough in a rainstorm. Plus, I noticed that you did not have to secure your food outside the tent somewhere (at least you did not mention it). Obviously, this is because there are no large predators. Many places over here are requiring bear canisters now, even in the East. So only sheep where you are -- but they can still keep you up at night.
@MarysOutdoorAdventures
@MarysOutdoorAdventures Жыл бұрын
So glad you enjoyed the nighttime sound effects 😆 Yes I was very lucky to have no wind that night - I'd checked before to make sure but sometimes it's not always accurate. No there is no need to store food elsewhere here as no trouble with wildlife which is good.

I love everything about this video, this is exactly why I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for taking the time to record and share your overnight adventure Mary. I have watched a number of your videos along with all of your PCT videos and decided to purchase the same tigerwall tent. However mine does not have the privacy section that runs around the bottom of the tent like yours does and wondered if you thought this may be a fault or if it is a new version of the tent, (I only bought it at the beginning of this year). Would love to know your thoughts as I was quite disappointed that it did not have this privacy section!

Just found you, what a lovely person. I used to live in Glossop and have done Kinder at least 25 times, last time in snow with idiots who thought they knew more than me, you are wonderful doing the wild camp up there, I have never done such a thing, I have done 68 Wainwright fells, but now at my age my back will not allow me to carry on, I am gutted.
