I got myself the regular kindle 2 years ago so mine is old and in black and white ;) but I did buy it specifically for the feather triology by Abra Ebner because her books were self published I believe and were only on kindle at the time. Happy to have bought it though. I have a ton of books on there nicely compact and most of the books were $4.99 or less :D

Definitely get their wall charger. It's advertised as much faster than plugging it into the computer and IT SO IS. I waited like SIX full hours for that thing to charge from my computer and it only takes around two when I plug it into the wall! Also it's not supposed to be good when it's super reflective;)

Personally, I'm a huge fan of their new service Kindle Unlimited. I read so much that 10 bucks a month for unlimited(ish) books. It's kind of great. Sad they got rid of the lending library, though. . .

Most of the kindles (except kindle fire) are b&w... And the cheapest one, which doesn't include camera or a lot of ppi or hdmi, is the kindle fire (just kindle fire) (it has color). I think this would be ok thinking that you don't need another computer-type device. If you want to sacrifice color to have a cheapest price go ahead for the Kindle 6" e-ink (it has wifi).

The kindle fire is great if you want to read, or relax, and the iPad is more for work, playing games, and watching movies. Depends on what you will use it for. I wouldn't be able to choose either!

mines came in the same box. also it didnt come with a charger either so i had to use the white part of the iPhone charger and put it on my kindle usb cord. it works perfectly good

Gah! I keep pressing buttons I don't mean to and it sends my comment without me finishing it! Anyways. I still prefer actual books, but I have learned to love ebooks as well. Especially since libraries now will let you check out books on your ereader. Omg amazing. I can't afford to buy books all of the time, so it has been wonderful. It will even save my place and notes and such for the next time I check the book out.

I hate the amazon kindle fire autocorrect....i got the old one I got it last Christmas and this summer I got the e-ink one butt the smaller one and cheaper--- I love Amazoon...it's cheaper than an Ipad...that I can't afford.
