No leaf blower used, but that's a great idea. It was a gusty day when we filmed, between gusts the trees were not moving. Also between gusts, on one of the spinners, to achieve an even spin, we did do a little hand spinning.

So sorry to hear that. Please take advantage of the Solutions Lifetime Guarantee and return your wind spinner! During the filming of these various spinners, I did find that some designs worked better than others. I also had a spinner that did not work as well as I would like and had to replace it with another sample. All of the spinners filmed worked in a 15mph breeze or less and spun well. Return your spinner if you are not satisfied and get one that works properly, they are great!

It's Bach, but if you're trying to find a recording it's not a Brandenburg. It's for unaccompanied cello (or maybe violin?) And it's a partita or sonata. Sorry I can't be more help, my memory's useless. Sometimes played on guitar too. Beautiful music, though...

I bought a kinetic wind spinner at a craft sale. One of the spinners does not spin. I can push it with my finger easy enough but the wind will not make it spin. What can I do to make it work?

It might be a balance problem. If the weight isn't evenly distributed it can take a lot of wind to move it and the spinner design can complicate it. You can correct it with lead weights like they do with car tires. Fishing line split shot can work in some cases like spinners made with bicycle wheels. I used that on a folk art piece made of a bicycle wheel with vanes out of house siding. It looks like a large daisy. But it took a whole lot of wind to spin it. I balanced it by putting split shot on the wheel spokes. It spins really easily now.. hope that helps you.

I imagine so. They'd be less efficient than a typical windmill due to the less than optimum blade designs, but they'd still turn and that's what you need to generate electricity. Some of the blade designs might be comparable to regular windmill blades- like the helical one could catch about as much air flow. I do know that helical blades are used in vertical axis windmills so they can handle wind gusts going along the axis as well as perpendicular to the axis... that way they can take advantage of downdrafts/updrafts as well.

I am having a problem with our new spinner. One side either won't spin or when it does it spins in the same direction as the first side...no illusion created. We are not sure what we did wrong. its not twice as much wind power, the first blade will absorb kinetic energy, so the backside blade is always getting less power than the first. also: neither are connected to a generator nor big enough to even turn a motor over

There are copper cleaners/polishes on the market , But I would not clean copper as it ages with a nice patina, The only copper I would polish is a teapot.

I bought one of these and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. If you look close you will see in the center of the circles the welded bolts and plates that you use to connect the two halfs. These are so heavy that they make the wind sculpture unbalanced....so much so that even 25mph winds won't make this spin. These are not balanced and don't work like the video. Their are several on the market that are very balanced and work great but due to the plates these, IMO, are basically good looking junk.
