As a 🇬🇧 culturally but lapsed Christian with Sikh friends. This fills me with pride. This isn’t put on for the cameras, the king really is appreciative and respectful of all faiths. I love how the Kings personal bodyguard who’s also Sikh, and stood behind him with the orange tie and socks 😂 is subtly pointing and gesturing to his boss what to do. This isn’t fake woke BS. This is mutual respect kindness and ❤️ This monarchy and this kind of society I encourage and embrace. Brilliant !

Respecting all religions and protect them from persecution is one thing, bowing and praying to a pagan god is another. As the Head of the Christian Church of England, he bows only to Christ as all Christians do. What he did is BLASPHEMY, by his action he is a pagan. Has nothing to do with with being modern or not, descreminating or not, because this are things of the sacred. By the rules of his ancestors that made the UK a Christian Kingdom, by is action he would no longer be fit to be king much less to be crowned in a Christian Church. With all due respect to your belifs, would be the same as if the priest of the Indu god participate in the Eucharist and take the Communion in memory of the Redeemer. Out of all the Royals...I actually like Charles. He knows his history and the ties these two countries have and the relationships that need to be maintained. HUGE respect for him to sit down cross-legged like everyone else, Sikhism promotes this behavior of we are all on the same level. The fact he didn't need or request for special treatment or his own chair was a massive sign of respect. I can imagine it being uncomfortable for him to sit in that position since he's not used to it plus his age and the suit he's wearing maybe a bit restrictive but the fact he did it shows nothing but love.

Yep, although I've been doing it for years, massive respect still due to King Charles for doing this and showing such respect. He doesn't have to do this but yet he does. The Sikh congregation obviously amazed by his presence, totally bowled over. I hope he enjoyed the langar (dinner) afterwards washed down with spicy tea!!

Respecting others beliefs is one thing, bowing and praying to a pagan god as a Christian is another. He is the Head of the Christian Church of England and sworn defensor of the Church of Scotland. What he did is blasphemy. A Christian only vows and prays to Christ otherwise he's no longer a Christian. He is nothing. To respect others cultura and religion, is his duty, but NEVER TO BOW to a pagan god. By the rules of his ancestors that made the UK a Christian Kingdom, he is a pagan by action and no longer fit to be king, much less to be crown in a Christian Church. That is not a laughing matter, and have nothing to do with being modern or not when comes to Religion.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with Sikhs attending church too, Sikhs respect the beliefs of all other religions and some do attend services at churches and other places of worship. Sikhs believe in oneness and unity, regardless of race, religion, gender etc. Selfless service is at the heart of the Sikh religion, all Sikh temples serve free vegetarian meals all day long and Sikhs are encouraged to be selfless, righteous warriors and protections in their daily lives.
