Kirby might be the star of the show, on the surface…but come on-we all know who the REAL protagonist of the Kirby series is. Who’s the man with the big hammer and the bigger redemption arc? Who’s the king of Dream Land, just because he says he is? Who’s the downright SMOOTHEST penguin around? It’s King Dedede, and it’s high time we gave this literal emperor penguin the royal treatment he deserves.
But while King Dedede has been a hero, he’s also been a villain…and also, sometimes the spin-offs need a token villain.

King Dedede saving a waddle dee in Forgotten Land made me so emotional when I saw the cutscene for the first time. It also shows just how much Dedede has grown. He went from enslaving a hunch of waddle dees for his own gluttony, to saving one possibly out of thousands of millions of waddle dees.

I love how after you beat Dedede in 64, Dedede basically gets told by the Waddle Dee to join them but he denies. Then starting to think, then getting mad and actually helping. Presumably after losing to Kirby, or his waddle dee begging for help. Plus, you forget to mention that Dedede saves Adelines life after you beat Neo Star. LONG LIVE THE KING!

Eggman doesn't have too many good deeds. The only ones I could think of is like doctor said, helping to save the Earth in SA2 (and Shadow the Hedgehog), saving Sonic from getting attacked in Lost World, and saving Sage at the end of Frontiers

​@zeospark9715 How about Shadow The Hedgehog (the game)? In that game, he literally spent all his time fighting alien invaders to protect Earth. The worst thing he did in that was Gaslighting Shadow for fun. Not to mention he reveals that he was the one who saved Shadow after SA2 but was keeping him on life suport in Heroes and protected by Omega. Also all of Sonic Frontiers, he wasn't even trying to bring back a Elder God, he was just checking out a island with stuff.

In super smash bros brawl, his side special he throws waddle dees, waddle doos and Gordos but in super smash bros wii u, super smash bros 3Ds and super smash bros ultimate. He doesn’t throw waddle dees or waddle doos anymore, he only throws gordos maybe because he thinks “wait why am I throwing and friends and these dangerous looking people” he only throws gordos because they were born to be hazards they don’t do a lot and invincible so now they have a purpose. But this is super smash bros, the game where everyone fights each other hero’s or villains they all fight each other unless there’s a huge threat they all work together but besides that they all mostly fight each other and I liked the waddle Dee throw move so bring the attack back! It’s fitting for king dedede.

Since you mentioned smash bros here it’d be cool if you sentenced smash bros villains for their crimes. Also there was smash ultimate with Galeem attempting to destroy the universe and dedede being playable there but you didn’t include it (maybe bc he’s not as helpful there due to him being optional)

I never thought Dedede’s deeds in Subspace Emissary would actually be good. I thought he was just killing off heroes, and making their trophies his property, most likely decorations for his castle. I guess R.O.B never thought that Castle Dedede would have a heroes in it after sending it to Subspace. Speaking of Subspace, I think Wario stole Bowser’s hovercraft and made it into his own to carry his captured heroes. Either that or Bowser and Wario each got their own hovercrafts while Ganondorf stayed behind and looked over everything for Master Hand/Tabuu.

Bowser is not redeemed and CANNOT be redeemed because he doesn't WANT to be. In order for a villain to be redeemed, they have to genuinely want redemption. Bowser doesn't. And Ganondorf has done much, much worst than Bowser or Dedede and is overall much more evil than them.
