After his emergency heart surgery ( he had a serious heart attack and was clinically dead for 5 minutes!), he took a long break from singing, quit smoking, drinks very little alcohol and he did lots of vocal training with a vocal coach. His wife Livia, who is a proper trained soprano singer, actually helped him with that.( she does the background vocals here as well.)

I cannot sleep at night That's what the day is for anyway And as the clock strikes midnight I hear them dancing at the graves Singing to my mind Killing the pain . . . sleepless nights . . . sleepless nights I cannot sleep at night That's what the day is for anyway And as the clock strikes midnight Only they can let us meet Even though she's dead now I gotta see her again . . . sleepless nights . . . sleepless nights I cannot sleep at night I will do anything to see missy again Then let us make you an eternal deal You will attend to the graves You'll give us the house back and keep in mind That we only come here at night. So we made the deal under the starry night and Amon belongs to them now . . . I feel the dawn coming my way And as the sun breaks up the dark I can't hear them dance no more There's no voices Killing the pain . . . pain . . . pain

I´m a huge King Diamond fan, I don´t really care if people say that falsetto isn´t really that hard, the true talent of KD resides in the influence that he has estabished upon the metal scene over the years, the way he tells this dark stories with the use of heavy metal is pretty much unique and thats why I consider him the best vocalist out there

Yes. Both men were outstanding on this tour. Wead is particularly impressive on "Eye of the Witch", IMHO.
@donmcglothlin8415 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I've always been a fan of Denner but Wead is every bit as talented and even pulls a lot of Blakk's tone when covering his solos. It's one thing to sound good playing something you wrote but to be able to emulate multiple guitarists who have previously filled the role and sound every bit as good as they did in the studio live says something. Mike Denner - Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Pete Blakk - Them, Conspiracy, The Eye, Herb Simonsen - Spider's Lullabye, Graveyard, Voodoo, Glen Drover - House of God. That's a lot of guitarists to emulate and Wead does it masterfully.
@jdhed15 жыл бұрын
Underrated according to who? King is a heller gtr player also. He writes most of the riffs. Having King choose to hire you for his band would be all the recognition one would need in my opinion. But maybe he should consult you the next time he decides to hire a guitarist to make sure he's properly rated.
