I love this game. I bought a whole 360 and this game just to play it again. It's crazy to see looking back how much this game and 2005 King Kong film impacted me.

Incredible work ! You brought me memories I didn't knew I had, I remember watching my brother playing it and being scared by the level of immersion and ambiance in this game, it was unseen for me

I'm so glad you liked it. I remember being too afraid to move in some of the levels as a kid just from the sounds of the dinosaurs outside, it was one of the first games to do that for me.

I agree 👍🏻 ahead of it's time and had Details in it long before the likes of red dead. For example Hayes will comment on jack for counting out loud basically telling him to be quite because of the dangerous environment. And the music you put into it is almost like an end of an era to the best movie based games. My childhood along with the lord of the rings games that I'm still waiting for to be backwards compatible for the xbox one.

I went to the comments expecting hundreds after watching the video only to notice that you have 9 subdcribers. Should be higher! Really good video, you have a 10th sub

Thank you so much, I hope you enjoy the next one as much as this one.

I had a demo of this game that came with a magazine back in the day that I used to play over and over. I wish I'd played the full game.

It's a ton of fun, and a real challenge even now. If you've got the spare cash (or dolphin emulator) I'd give it a shot.

Great vid! Hope to see the channel grow! Loved this game as a kid although i was terrified the whole time

Even as an adult it got me more than a few times. The two raptors on the Hayes level always stress me out, pacing back and forth and making the horrible noise.

Brilliant video honestly, thoroughly enjoyed. I used to play fhis fame all of the time as a young kid i believe on my wii of all things was a blast to be taken through a deep dive like this
@monotonevideo10 күн бұрын
@@JamieNorrish whoa that sounds like fun, I forget the Wii could play GameCube games. I got to play it again in-depth for this video on my GameCube and was really surprised by how well it held up outside my nostalgia. It was a pleasure to make this video, and I'm happy people have liked it so far

Damn you've reminded me how good the score is for this game.

@@UpFromTheDepths88 yeah it's really evocative. I didn't showcase it here but that track on the main menu is great.

nice video! A little hard to see whats going on sometimes though. I wish u had shown what the 360 version looked like. I remember only being able to play that version on original xbox and the difference in kong's model is crazy.
@monotonevideo19 күн бұрын
Yeah the game got real dark. Trying to play the alternate ending was a real challenge, I couldn't see anything. I never played the 360 version outside a kiosk in a Walmart way back, but I remember seeing it and being blown away by how it looked.

I loved this game. Better story than that crap movie
@monotonevideo19 күн бұрын
Can't agree that the movie is crap, but I do think an argument could be made for the game adapting Kong's story better than Jackson's film. There isn't a wasted second in the game, it gets you straight into the plot.

Awesome video! Always preferred the aesthetics of the ending in the game rather than the film
@monotonevideo19 күн бұрын
@@CurlyMcNulty it fits the game well, but the "beautiful" callback in the film really gets me. It's strange to set your tragic ending at sunrise but in the 2005 film's case I think it worked out great.
