I played the ever living fuck out of this game when I was young. I've beat it countless times. About 3 years ago I rebuilt an old PS2 I got at a yardsale. I had probably over 40 games I've held onto over the years, and this was the first I played. Beat it that same night with my 2 best friends who also share my love for this game. We were like kids again. Idk how to explain, but this game holds a special place in my heart that no other game has since. The second the first crab came out of the ocean while you're trying to get that gate open still gave me goosebumps. This game terrified me as a kid! The countless hours I spent searching for fire to burn the bushes down, because I was too scared to walk through them. No matter how many times I beat this game my adrenaline would start pumping in every single firefight. The unpredictable AI kept you on your toes. I can still hear the creepy music that played every single time someone was screaming for your help when they got downed. I remember bashing the hell out of my triangle button pounding Kong's chest, and beating the shit out of anything that moved. Great fucking game. I'm sure a ton of it is just nostalgia, (I mean, look at the way I'm talking about it 🤣) but it's still a great game regardless. No online connection. No multilayer. It didn't need it IMO. It was just a shit load of fun. Great! Now I gotta find a way to play this game again 😂

Probably spent more hours on this than any other game. It's such a straightforward game, but the action is so intense you just can't help but want to play it multiple times. The worst part about this game (by that, I mean the most terrifying) were the solo missions. Also, out of all the creatures in this game, the scorpion-looking things scared the living shit outta me. 15 years later and I STILL actually have nightmares about them. X,D

I remember when I was a kid, and a friend of the family helped install our first PC, and it came with a CD of this game. The dude just installed and started up the game for fun, and called me over, to sit in the chair. It was not only our first home computer, but also my first ever videogame experience, so I had nooo idea what to expect. I recall sitting in that boat in the intro sequence, looking around with the mouse, mouth wide open. I asked with confusion: "Wait, is this a game or a movie?" Dude just replys "Both." with a chuckle. So eventually I got to the crabs, and I was scared shitless. Somehow I made my way through, heart racing like I was in real danger. Then came the giant crab, and my heart just sank. I had spent all of my ammo on the little guys, not knowing I could run out, and I didn't get that I could use the bones as spears, so I was helpless. As the big fucker comes at me, roaring and limbs outstretched, I just screamed and bolted away from the screen, locking myself in the bathroom. I didn't even know that esc pauses the game. So yeah, it was absolutely magical.

I had a similar first experience with this game. One of my dads friends brought over the original Xbox version the week it released. I ran out of ammo at the small crabs and just handed the controller to my dad when the big one showed up. I spent the rest of the night playing Blinx lol.

Some of the most memorable deaths in gaming include Ghost, Aerith, Eli Vance, and of course Hayes from this game. Ubisoft hasn't always been a bad word. They used to pump out gems like there was no tomorrow. Once developers realize people buy shit games and ignore cash grab dlc and other micro transactions , look at GTA V for example, Rockstar has milked that game for nearly a decade now with still no clear end in sight. RDR2 storymode is something of an exception to the rule of multiplayer games these days but RDO fits right in. Another argument is that multiplayer at the scale it's at now ruined the future for games like these as well.
@fablefan694 жыл бұрын
look up beyond good & evil. The old days of gaming are dead it seems, where people valued story, immersion, and games that didn't have to rely on lazy multiplayer replayability.
@pierreo334 жыл бұрын
@@fablefan69 Every single AAA game (hate that term) coming out these days are controlled by business men who have never played a video game in their life. All they see is money to be made. They don't care about the product, they just see what's trending at the moment and try to copy it instead of creating something new. I despise the direction gaming is taking. Why is a AAA game with hundreds of millions of dollars in budget filled with bugs, glitches and server issues at release? Because despite having that big of a budget, the huge video game companies are trying to spend as little money as possible on servers and game testing, but for some reason there are never any problems with buying microtransactions. They don't care about what they're creating or the satisfaction of the players, as long as the initial sales are high enough to make back then money and then some. Some developers even threaten gaming sites to not release a review of a game before or on the release date, not until a week later. I'm sure this is a trend that will grow.

The original that you should avoid all cost, it uses starforge drm and can break your windows and has many problems and then there is the the gamer edition which is "fine". You do need to go on the "widescreen fixes pack" site to download there fix and after that king kong runs pretty darng good.

It's easily one of my favorite remakes of all time, and as a life long fan of the genre I'd also say it has the best daikaiju score of any film. It frustrates me to no end we got two really respectful Godzilla films as part of the MonsterVerse and also Skull Island, which is anything but respectful to either franchise.

A remake of remaster of this game would be more perfect than I already find it. Add 2+ hrs of more gameplay A few more island creatures Update graphics and dialogue Update cutscenes Keep the same immersive environment but add even more elements and randomness to the creatures. Even better fighting mechanics, make the a.i even more intelligent and clever The creatures of the island fighting, hunting and killing each other were the highlights for me. It made them feel like animals just trying to survive. The Brontosaurus level was legit nightmare inducing, the millepedes have you heart attacks, the Venatosaurs were the apex hunters. If they could make the same game and dial it up to 3.0 while MAINTAINING the integrity and vision of the original game, it's a absolute dream of a movie game

The Smiley One First off. 2005 isn’t the original. It’s a remake. Kong Skull Island has better pacing it’s never a slow film, It removes the boring love story plot line, better acting from Samuel Jackson, John Goodman, Tom Hiddleston, John C Reilly, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell. The Skullcrawlers on Skull Island are more creative than the V-Rex. More satisfying ending too with them discovering that there’s more islands with different creatures. Also the film is linked to Godzilla vs Kong which releases soon.
