@MelissaHuyck-js8td Hey Melissa, good morning, thanks so much...Houston, Texas here. I don't really know how to start to reply to such high praise. You are the real hero. I accidentally became a KZbin creator in October of 2019 when I posted the queen size version of this floating bed frame. That video really took off much more so than I ever could have anticipated so I kept making videos. This king size was after I had been producing videos for quite a little while and I kind of had an idea of how I wanted to present the items I was making. I'm certain you can see the evolution of my video editing if you watch from oldest to newest. Now I'm here! I try to be quick, funny, useful, and informative in a not over produced video to get the point across quickly but effectively. No one has time these days to watch a ~15-20 minute video. We want to be able to see how to do this thing that I want to pretty quickly and be able to ask the creator questions if I need to. That's what we do here on this channel...run 100% by me. I'll be launching a website here before too long too. I can't thank you enough for your most enthusiastic support and encouragement. Thank you, thank you 🤝

@@CurtisMadeIthow long it took you to build it ??
@CurtisMadeIt2 ай бұрын
@mistersmokey7469 Hey M, it depends on how nice you want it to look and how much effort you want to put in to it really. If you are just getting your materials, cutting, and slapping it together, I'm sure you could pretty easily have this done in a day. I take the time to prepare the wood for stain/finish so it takes quite a lot longer to sand the boards down to smooth with progressively finer sanding grits. See the headboard video posted on this channel for this king size build too, this obviously will add to your build time. Let me know if you have any other questions. I appreciate your time and support here, I mean it 🤝

I just made this bed today and it is an awesome design! I used 2 x 10 for the base and 2 x 6 for the up frame I also topped it with 1/2" primed ply for the top. Thank you very for this video and design I love the bed!! Bought the lumber yesterday and cut and built it all today. This thing is solid as a rock! God bless you my friend! I spent about $128 for the lumber and then another $122 for 2 4 x 8 sheets of ply wood for the top. WELL worth the money!

@Jarret Gorsh Hi Jarret, thanks for stopping by and contributing here. This is the first time I’ve seen this concern brought up so I took the time to research it myself. While there is some truth to your statement, I think I would only really be worried about this if I lived in a basement or an *extremely* humid environment. By now, many dozens of people from several different countries have built this bed frame with plywood and I hope at least one of them would have contacted me to let me know if this is actually a problem. There are advantages and disadvantages both to using plywood or a box spring. These floating bed frame videos on my channel give you guys a good idea of where to start building your own bed frame. I’m here to help and advise as needed. I appreciate your time and interest in this video my friend. I’ll talk to you again down the road.

@Wyag Vibing Hey Wyag, thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate your time and interest. More specific for the types of wood: make sure to use untreated lumber, 2x6's for the base and frame. If you want the base to be a little taller so you are able to store more stuff in there, make it out of 2x8, 2x10, or 2x12. Make sure to include a box spring to support your mattress or you can substitute plywood for a box spring. Does this help? Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll do my best to set you straight. Talk to you again soon my friend.
