Revision literally means to “see again,” to look at something you have already studied before. Study just means gaining knowledge of an academic subject.

37:12 I guy in my exam used his phone in an exam to book football tickets (the championship play off final) and got away with it despite his phone pinging. He even went to the toilet to get in the online queue for the tickets but went back to his seat with his phone still out. In another exam, he was sitting in front of me and it started hailing. We were in an old 1970s sports hall with a corrugated roof so you couldn’t hear a thing, and he started having a conversation with me, not about the exam or the answers, but just asking how my day was. I suppose the way us English view it is 'Revising' is going over and retaining information of something you have been previously taught (throughout the school year ready for the upcoming exam) - whereas 'Studying' is to learn new information you didn't previously possess or be taught

Its called revising because we study over our previously written notes. In the uk we dont cram before an exam we are expected to understand years worth of information. We will have all our exams in one week multiple exams a day it is hell.

"Revision" actually makes more sense as a term for what Americans call "studying." It's directly from the Latin for "looking at again" (the word "vision" is right in there!). Because of that, it's also a good alternative word for "editing."

Doorways in the UK are usually 6 foot 6 inches. So Tall tom would be 6'7" or maybe 6'8". But that's only in relatively modern buildings. Pubs are often much older. Tom could be 4 foot 3 based on the doorways in some really old pubs. I've been in some where my head brushed the ceiling beams, and I'm 5 foot 7.
