Personally I loved co-op slayer. Me and my irl buddy were super into into it. My friend actually quit doing slayer ever since it was removed, so this will definitely make him train it again.

The whole point is that it would be fun. Theres times to be super efficient, and then theres times to just have fun. Its a game and the thing about co-op slayer is that you dont have to partake in having a slayer buddy… keep doing solo tasks. But those that wanna have a homie cruise along, the option is there. It doesnt need to be super controversial.

I can see this be a fast way to skip tasks but still profit points. You team up with someone with a couple "goal" tasks in mind. You power through the optimized list someone setup until you land on a goal task then go do the goal task alone.

All that people think of is how this can't be used to cheese slayer progression. But there's obvious benefits to doing this. You are getting about the same amount of base points but your streak is progressing twice as fast. You can also breeze through tasks with your partner until you land a specific task, like cerb or something barragable. Then your partner just f*cks off for a bit to do something else and you can complete the task on your own. You can also use other account's blocklist to its fullest degree, without having to spend any of your points and time on setting one up.

I think the only thing I'd really like to see is duo scaled boss instances. That would be actually fun. Sharing a gargoyle task would just be annoying. They could split normal loot and do MVP system for uniques.

Games these days focus too much on the solo experience... what fun, low-medium requirment activity can you even do with friends? If you were to get a friend in the game right now, that was new to it, what off the top of your head could you go do with them for fun? Runescape desperately needs things like partner slayer to let people have fun playing with their friends. Partner slayer just by itself isn't great, but adding many things like this over time could really change the experience for players who aren't loners. The only fun thing it seems like you can do with your friends is bossing or raids, but those have such high requirements you're never gonna get your friend to play the game. Not having much opportunity to have fun with friends is why I rarely even play osrs anymore

You'll actually get more points per hour from this because you'll be completing tasks faster and the streak bonuses aren't split. I'll probably never use this since the only account I really play is an iron but it sounds like it could be fun for early/mid level slayer.

Justiciar with blood fury and Ely shield. Any weapon you want for melee, but probs fang or whip. You'll basically hardly get hit, and you'll heal occasionally.

I think it’s an okay idea. Not “needed”, but it’s okay. I think I can count on one hand how many times I used partner slayer in RS2, but, it won’t hurt for GIMs and new players who want to play at the same time. I think King “My Name’s Not Richard” Condor hit the nail on the head though - why not just duo up on bosses, off task, or grind out a mob type together already? I cant complain, but the 5% of turbo-scrubs that think it’ll “ruin” Slayer or somehow invalidate your pointless numbers - go touch grass.

Runescape has fallen to the "law of efficiency". This will be barely used simply because it means less exp a, points, and loot per task, and players feel they'd be wasting their time playing with friends. I could see this being somewhat mitigated if they provided a "friendship bonus" that gives extra exp or slayer points after doing a certain number of tasks together that could make up for at least a majority of the xp/points lost.
