Thank you very much indeed for those kind words. I sometimes get a little despondent about making those long reviews and essay-type videos, because it just takes me so long to do, and I often go without sleep if I'm trying to get them out in a hurry (as I did this last week). But... now and again, someone will say to me "You can really see the difference in the finished video between your videos and most other KZbinrs though." and that makes it all worth it. I have tried just throwing out videos with my narration, over the same 3 minutes of looping game footage, like so many others do... but I just can't make myself do it somehow. 😆 Thank you. Comments like this make the effort worth it.

Especially that part about every other game having this Geralt/Batman/moody superhero voice for main guy, but our Henry just having a regular voice, because he is just a regular kid from a small town, but still showcasing a wide range of emotions. 10/10 voice acting from the team. I'm looking forward to if Warhorse adds accessibility options than you can toggle on/off based on player needs. I don't mind savior schnapps, but I'd like to have aim reticle for my bows - an option PS5 players won't have unlike PC guys (console comands n all). Yes. It HAS now been announced when this game begins. It's lovely when you're invited to an early game reveal, so that you can get your video about the game out... the SECOND that game is revealed. The only problem is that you have to take the information you're given. And then they reveal the game... and they put up a website, and a game listing on Steam... and they do interviews... and in all of those things they mention things to everyone that they never told YOU. Don't get me wrong... I love Warhorse. Everyone I've ever spoken to over there is lovely. But when game devs invite you to these things, and then the second they reveal the game, they also tell the public stuff they didn't bother to tell you... it makes us look like we weren't paying attention. 😆 I spent a week doing research, writing, recording, and editing this video. And the first thing a lot of developers do, is to tell everyone else what they didn't tell you, so that you look like an idiot. 😂 Whatever... I'm excited for the game.

Above everything. I hope we get a COMPETENT Henry this time. Not necessarily a full master, but competent in all major skills. Not having to spend the first 20 hours learning to swordplay again ITS A MUST for this new game. Here are a few ideas of how they could easily do that: 1° Let us actually chose an archtype this time. From Henry the Rogue; Henry the Valiant Knight; Or Henry the Archer. Something like this with bonus to each skill associated. 2° Let us choose weapon specializations from the start. Swords, maces, axes, etc. To ease us 8nto combat again this time. 3° Give us GOOD gear from the beginning, for the few first hours of the Prologe, then take it away from us after a trap or something. 4° Let us actually become a FULL ON KNIGHT in this game. With all the honors and challenges that that brought to people back then. Give us some quests to be able to actually HIRE squires to work for us, npcs that we can train and take to the field to batle, or to help with support or other skills. Something like that. 5° Let us actually have a fief to manage in this game. Or maybe businneses that we can manage. Maybe a Blacksmith workshop, or a potions shop. Gives us the option to become TRADERS or something.

I just read over this list, and I'm not sure I would want any of those things, to be honest. I mean, that's just me... but what made me come to love the first game, was that it was different from other medieval RPGs. There are a dozen RPGs that let you do those other things (with the possible exception of number 4), but I played KCD for the story... for the history... for more realistic feel of the combat. Yes, I was frustrated in the beginning, but that early incompetence and difficulty just made the game all the more enjoyable by the end. I want to enjoy the story, and wander the world having adventures. I don't want to be dragging companions around everywhere, or running a business. Like I said, that's just me. We all enjoy different games for different reasons. You raise an interesting point though. And it got me thinking. I might make a video about this. Thanks for watching, and for commenting.

With a few exceptions, you didn't have to hunt, steal, be diplomatic, or even fight at all in the first game if you didn't want to. I just want them to give us deeper roleplaying choices, that is all. (P.S: I kinda liked the first game Monastery quest, that is the type of thing that should have been fully optional from the start, and I think making a requirement was a mistake on their part. Yes, I want to be a monk in this new game too.)

I wouldn’t say he’s forgotten everything. It’s simply by the end of the first game he was just a DECENT warrior/swordsmen with good armor. I imagine in the sequel there will be a better combat system where you face MUCH more skilled opponents that are also better armored.

One of my own wild theories is that he's in his future... reminiscing about his past, or confessing to a priest about the things he's done in his past. That way they can give Henry's back story to people who are unfamiliar with the first game.

I think there are a few possibilities. One is that he's reminiscing about, or confessing the sins of, his past to someone. It could be that's happening to Henry as an old man, or it could be that he's remembering his past, as he awaits some great battle in the Hussite Wars the next morning. That way, they could introduce newcomers to Henry's past story. Another is that teh game begins right where we left him, and then... when we move to the Kuttenberg map... we also move forward several years in time to the Hussite Wars. Those are probably both wrong, but it's fun to speculate. Thanks for watching.

Saviour Schnaps will return but there will be more savepoints, they want to eliminate moments where you loose hour of gameplay so I quess there will be more automatic saving. I also feel like they told somewhere that KCD 2 is happening 3 days after leaving to Trosky Castle in first game. KCD 2 will also finish story of Henry, so I quess no KCD 3. This is a game I've always been a firm evangelist for. Nothing compares to it in terms of the immersion and RPG heaven it provides. I've put in more hours on it than anything other than a Paradox game. That said, your warning was apt. The first game, while seriously my favorite RPG ever including Fallout, was janky as hell. It was riddled with bugs upon release, it had a combat system that while great in some ways was lacking in others, and it made the game hard for some to get into. I don't want them to dumb it down, but I do think comments about accessibility and learning curve they've made so far are good signs. After BG3, the consensus in the gaming space seems to be, no more excuses, especially not for AAA studios. The bar has been raised high. I think a massive bug ridden release would lose a lot of goodwill. The Kuttenberg scale makes me think I need to scale up on hardware, immediately and I worry about a Fallout 4 Downtown Boston type performance - Rattay was an issue on XBOX really up until XB1 took over. A Cyberpunk 2077 esque launch would be hard to recover from - and that's a game that I also think was excellent, FWIW, and got way better once PL came out. So I do hope Warhorse put as much possible into avoiding bugs on launch to generate some momentum
@betrandguesclin7 ай бұрын
The reason why the launch of kcd1 was rough is that they were out of money and needed to release the game to not go bankrupt. Now they have way more resources and planning the release so quickly after the announcement gives me quite a bit of confidence about the state of the game already.
@patcoghlan38527 ай бұрын
@@betrandguesclin Yeah the studio is definitely one of my favorites. It's a passion project and it shows. The scale of what they want to accomplish is what sets them apart. But with resources driven from the first games success, I think they're gonna be alright All FPV open world RPGs are a bit buggy on launch. The key is having them be manageable and not game breaking, and having good performance overall. When Women's Lot and Royal Edition came out, it went off pretty much without a hitch, so it shows they definitely learned a lot.

The only thing that makes me doubt the idea of a time skip between the two maps is the confirmed feature that you can travel between the two after you arrive at the second. Obviously with different time periods that would introduce certain issues that i dont see how they can line up BUT that's from my uneducated and idiotic perspective so, you know!

Also, side note: Your analysis and comments on the "hate" from gamers is a bit condescending. It implies that there is no reason for mature gamers like myself to be annoyed/irritated at the current state of the gaming industry which is atrocious and ruled by predatory, lazy and greedy companies. Are there some immature twats who will complain regardless? Ofcourse but there is more reason for hate in the current gaming landscape than optimism or satisfaction.

Yes, that's a fair point. I interviewed Tobi from Warhorse earlier today, so there will be an interview video up here at some point in the next 24 hours.
