Man, it's refreshing to have a protagonist that's confident, smart and empathetic like Riku. Not that I don't like our good-natured and embarrasingly oblivious boy Sora. I think he's great, in fact. But that archetype is kinda overused. And more importantly, not always done in a satisfying way.

Hey Dan, quick tip so you don't forget to equip important stuff: You can change out both your characters commands, even if you're not playing as them. Meaning that you can edit Sora's commands as Riku and Vice-Versa. So when you got the air dash move, you should've also equipped it to Sora.

this world is so pretty, I hope we see it in another Kingdom Hearts game at some point. Also, you don't need to use a recipe to make a dream eater, you can just combine random parts. the stuff you get from that tends to be stronger, so I'd give it a shot!

So it is possible to beat the entire game without ever using flow motion. Hidden areas and the such can be accessed with reality shifts and tricky jumping at times. It was almost like they wanted flow motion to be unlockable ability or they added it in later on in development. Though I am very, VERY happy for the flow motion in this game.

I'm annoyed that Sora can talk to the gargoyles. I much prefer the interpretation that the gargoyles are figments of Quasimodo's imagination brought about as a result of his isolation (mostly because it makes their presence more bearable).

Sora (or any character that is not originally from that world) isn't bound by the rules in the world he is visiting. For example, Sora, Donald and Goofy are exempt from the curse back in Port Royal.

Of course, if we're going by the interpretation that the gargoyles actually are alive but only Quasimodo can see their true nature, then that's in line with Kingdom Hearts' visitor immunity rule. But that just circles back around to the fact that the gargoyles are alive, and I don't much care for the fact that the game straight up shuts out any possible alternative read.

It literally was explained last episode "I will be sending you back in time to just before KH1, when your Destiny Islands got made into a sleeping world". Yen Sid says this to Sora and Riku while explaining what exactly their Mark of Mastery is gonna be. But because they're in the realm of sleep that's why Ursula came back to life, for like the 4th time. It was a dream that Sora and Riku conjured up because they knew, from having gone on their various adventures since the beginning of KH1, that their world being swallowed by darkness was a favor for them. Because they'd have been dead at sea otherwise. Either by Kaiju like Ursula, or by more natural and sad means.

3:59 I’d be fine staying in one place if I got to own that brilliant utada hikaru song. 18:17 that’s the flowmotion attack you get for jumping off of a wall using flowmotion and flowmotion gliding from that jump, if you attack in that state you get that attack. Yeah, Spark/Sparkra/Sparkga are really, really underwhelming attacks when there's such a long load time and you can get a better AOE from just jumping off of a nearby wall. They are pretty slick ingredients when making Spirits, though.

I don't think Balloon would work too well with the flower stalks, considering they're both stationary. Are the stalks even enemies? That cutscene when Riku leaves the city...man, those were quite the 3DS graphics. "I am a virtuous man." Then Frollo laughs evilly. He never looks in the mirror, does he? I'm sure it's already been done, but my guess is that with that mission, the best thing to do is eliminate every enemy except one, then block an attack from the last one three times.

Overlord Laharl did the "Ride the meteor as it's plummeting toward your enemies" shtick better. Also, Dan is very bad at opening up menus and equipping new Keyblades. That's a problem, because opening up the menu and equipping new Keyblades is a skill he's gonna need to master and fast if he wishes to get far in this game.

I knew the second he hit that special portal that he was dead. Super uber dead, no special portal has killed me more, it is more of being low level that kills with that portal. If Dan can get through that portal, he is set for all other special portals, other then the secret ones after beating the game.

Thoughts: --Are the friendly Dream Eaters smarter than Donald and Goofy because it's a later game, or because we're not expecting one of them to be able to heal us? --I don't remember Phoebus being nearly this sympathetic in the movie. Good on him for buying into his culture's prejudices slightly less than the people around him. --Are Riku's eyes less green in this game than in earlier ones? I swear in game 1 they were actual cyan. --There's that symbol again, on the big flying thingus as a...belt buckle? Substitute dong? Am I the only one noticing these things? (iirc y'all didn't believe me the last couple of times outfit design got weird)
