What i don't get is the utility of sorting the dominoes by number before placing them. Could you shed some light on the purpose of that rule?
@WatchItPlayed2 жыл бұрын
That's probably more of a question for the designers, but if I had to guess, I believe the higher number means the tile is more "powerful" (ie. they have more crowns). Sorting the tiles by the numbers ensures whoever picks lower number (weaker tile) will choose new tile sooner next round (and vice versa).
@Arty298Shorts2 жыл бұрын
@@WatchItPlayed Ah that makes sense! Thanks a lot

Hello, thank you for this video. It was so much better than the written booklet. One question, what is the purpose of putting the card in numeric order, since the first player has the right to choose any of those cards that are in order. Thanks.
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the video! Putting the cards in order has to do with ensuring the turn order stays somewhat balanced. Some tiles are better than others, so it helps ensure that if you pick a "better" tile, you're more likely to have to take a later turn in the next round, as you'll be putting your figure further down the column to get it.
@sveinngudmarsson6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the excellent instructions. One question though: If you can play a domino but you don't want to since it will ruin your chances for next turn, can you discard it?

Different printings of the game have flip flopped a bit on this rule, but the designers intention is that you must place a tile if a legal placement exists.

The three player game described here is not the one in my Kingdomino rulebook. The three player version I have plays with 4 tiles placed down in a line at a time with the last one discarded after the players have chosen. This difference impacts play. The yellow tiles are wheat fields as another commenter noted and the brown ones are swamps. Otherwise a good explanation. The rulebook is unnecessarily confusing.

At the start of the video, I thought it was odd that each tile had a unique number on its back. Seemed like if you played it enough, you'd start to memorize what each number corresponded to. However, I guess that only tells you about the first tile, so it's not that big a spoiler. :P

Just so you guys know the second Edition Rule book got a 3 player specific rules change. now you need to draw 4 tiles like a 4 player game and discard the tile that is not chosen instead. the rules used in this video is first edition and no longer applies with the second edition rule book. of course you need to use all 48 tiles in a 3 player game now. I think they Added this rules because of the rule in Queendomino when playing 5 players using kingdomino. You use all tiles from both games and Draw 8 tiles per round, discarding the 3 tiles that where not chosen
