Hey coach....as always you do a superb job instructing and Training us. I love your videos. I have a question I want to ask you. I bought a new heavy bag and it's really stiff so hitting it it doesn't have much give. I've heard it said you can remove some of the stuffing to make it more pliable. What would you suggest for softening it up a bit and what are your thoughts on removing some of the stuffing?

Bluesman John hey man thanks for the vote of confidence. You can always take some of the stuffing out to make it softer on the hands for sure. However the bag will get lighter and would be bouncing all over the place if you punch hard or not snap your punches fast enough. Another method would be to find your self a roll of carpet padding thick enough and wrap it around the bag and duct tape it to keep it in place. You can make it as thick as your want depending on how soft you need it to be. Hitting a tiff bag is NOT a good idea and will damages your hands.

Hey young man. Congrats on starting up with Boxing training. The best place to start is at boxing stance and punch techniques. Go my channel and navigate to the playlists and choose punching technique. Good luck with your training and keep me posted with your progress.

After I use boxing gloves I have pain in my fingers when I bend them. There brand new Everlast gloves paid 70$ for them. I know there not the best but just wondering when using the boxing gloves do I make a complete closed fist. I find it hard to make a complete closed fist while wearing them. I wrap my hands with 180" hand wraps. Just wondering what im doing wrong coach. I don't have any pain in my wrist at all just my finger below the top knuckles

Well first question is: is the punching bag too hard to hit? Some bags end up feeling like a block of cement after some time of use. If that is case, stop hitting that bag and get something else. Second question would be: how ok’d are your gloves? Gloves don’t last forever and over time they lose their padding. I would invest in a better pair if that is the case. And last question would be: have you tried to check your technique? Sometimes is how you land on the bag might be the problem.
